 2011 Macbook Air 11'' VS iPad 2!

I have the Macbook Air 11 inch, but I would really love to have the next iPad (3), because I don't want to worry about my battery life. Sometimes when I travel with it, I don't want to use it just because I know the battery will drain at once. Especially if I would like to watch a movie on it. The iPad on the other hand is just perfect for that!

I realized that the iPad is perfect for people who don't multitask a lot and like to just browse the web, check emails, watch videos online, and listen to music. The iPad is the perfect media device and the battery life is what makes it worth it even more.

No, you can't. A tablet is touchable, which is the mouse. Plus that iPad 2 has the Apple A5 chip which makes it faster. Not a good comparison.

the reason for which many say you shouldn't compare apple with ducks is because you don;t really compare them based on their functionalities - which are very different indeed. iPad is clearly the better tool for consuming content (yes yes starting with battery life since this poped so much for you) while the mac is a more multifunctional tool - you can consume content (although the variety of apps on ipad is much much higher than the mac collection) but you can CREATE as well which is a big deal

Thanks for the review. We travel across Europe regularly and wanted something we could just throw in a bag an not worry about batterie life or physical size or weight of the equipment. We wanted it to connect easily, provide access to wifi services, web searches upload our pictures to and do all this effortlessly. We choose a iPad 2, it isn't a desktop but it does everything on the run that we require and would do much more. The iPad 2 proves that good things do come in small packages.

Battery life is amazing on the iPad 2. I have had it since Xmas 2011 and I have been an all-the-time user, no ,after if it s videos or if it is gaming I still maintain 10 hours. I thought at max I would get 7 since I use it a lot but even with me I'm getting 10 hours. I woke up using this at 10:00 am and it is 2:51 pm, and wit nonstop use I'm only at 47% battery life.

Nice video. I think most people can't get the point of this video. The iPad 2 and the MacBook air are both totaly flat and light and got imense battery-life! So they are the best devices to work on the go or at home on the couch or in the bed!

Call me stupid if you want, but I believe that if the iPad would support flash, then the 11 inch Macbook Air would not sell that much IMO. They need to add more battery life and a built in 3G/4G radio antenna on the Macbook Air like they have on the iPad for Verizon and AT&T for people who are on the go, and also include the same data plans that they have on the iPad and I'm sure people would buy more of these machines, but the price would increase I believe. What are your thoughts?

@JSantana319 As I said the 11'' Air's battery life needs to be improved, as for inbuilt 3g, I just use tethering on my Nexus S so I think it would be pointless when I can tether for free...

@iTechEverything I forgot to mention about the battery life on the current Macbook Airs, lol. Thanks for reminding me that. I hope one day Apple adds a much more powerful battery that would last around 10-15 hours per charge on all their Macs, so then it'll be worth adding the 3G/4G radio antenna. I love tethering and it's great and all, but sometimes you don't want to depend on a second device to able to get internet access. I wish I could tether for free like you, but I'm stuck with AT&T.
