Character driven or not, the show was simply AWESOME in it's first 3 seasons, then after the writers strike - it just went all to shit. I went from stopping WHATEVER I was doing, just to watch that show - To not even being able to stomach it anymore.
@zanidy13 I agree that the first 3 seasons were the best and it went downhill for season 4 and 5 but I'd like to think it redeemed itself in its last season. I think it was the last episode of season 5, when they 'killed' Juliet that I began to believe in the show again so yea, I get what u mean.
Sawyer and Julietwere an amazing couple, even though I never really liked her. Jack and Kate also, but they got the chance to be together and ruined it. Kate and sawyer was only for a moment, but I loved them together also ^^
The moments that I remember when I hear this theme are mainly with Sawyer and Juliet, especially in season 6 when Sawyer thinks about her after she died. It took me a while but I did eventually come to love them as a couple. After Kate, Sawyer and co escaped the Island on the plane at the very end, I really hope Kate and Sawyer didn't get together. I much prefer Jack and Kate as a couple then Sawyer and Juliet as a couple.
Don't you think too that if kate couldn't live without Jack, she would have done the same thing than Jin and die with him? She didn't. so she wanted to LIVE. I want her to do that, to have her own family and not living in Claire's Shadow. I want Sawyer and Kate to be together again and her helping Sawyer to meet his daugther <3
Wow. Amazing how so much jaters wants kate to have a miserable life until she died and be with Jack. xD. Ridiculous, the show showed us so many time that Skate are always brought back together, no matter what, there's even a mention in the police station scene from Sawyer. You can all deny it but it's simply here since the begining, that's all. I'm not in denial because you can love more than one perso in your life. She could have a life with Sawyer but still say to jack she missed him
Forgot to mention that this theme is also first heard when Walt offers to help Michael rebuild the raft after it's burnt. So to say it's purely Kate and Sawyer's theme would be too specific - it later was used for their relationship predominantly but its roots is mainly in the general theme of love.
Love this theme. It's like something you would hear from The Stand. I'm sure Giacchino would have taken some inspiration from that movie like the writers did!
I wonder if the epilogue on the DVD will cover what happened to Kate, Claire, and Sawyer off island. I know Claire will raise Aaron and Kate will help her. But what does Sawyer do? I hope he has some relationship with his daughter.
I really like how near the end it goes really 'island' sounding. It reminds me of those moments in the early seasons when the camera visits everyone on the beach enjoying themselves and stuff. Especially the Everybody Hates Hugo ending where Hurley disperses the food out to everyone which makes them all, including himself, really happy :)

Romancing the Cage is one of my favorites tracks. Right up there with Locke'd Out Again, Dharmacide, World's Worst Beach Party and whatever the Jacob theme from The Incident is going to be called.

The last piece is from the end of the episode "everybody hates hugo", I think so anyways, I love that part, and the theme too, when Hurley brings the food out and shares it with everyone, and that's actually one of the few moments on lost where everyone is happy really.
The beginning of Romancing the Cage is also the beginning of Bobbing for Freighters because it's played when Kate is upset over Sawyer jumping off the helicopter. I never noticed that before but knew it sounded familiar.
No Skate is just for short term, Suliet was real and beautiful, relationship long term (3 years), like Jate.. even Kate and Sawyer confessed that they move on, to their old relationship, even they've got little feelings..
First time we hear it is when Shannon kisses Sayid in Season 1 - since then used in all sorts of relationships including Shannon & Sayid but more recognisaby Sawyer and Kate's - most prominantly heard when they have sex in the cage in Season 3.

It begins with Kate and Tom and after that it has only been between them, sometimes when they are together and sometimes when they are apart and there is some remembrance of the other one. And the title was obviously written for season 3.
@Moollii I love Sawyer & Kate. <333 I think because Juliet and Sawyer only had like 2 episodes to really earn their chemistry, as opposed to Kate and Sawyer had almost half a season to earn it. I think Kate and Sawyer's forbidden romance was the sweetest because of this song that played.
@Clover101234 sawyer and kate are similar people, she feels more natural around him and she definitely cared a great deal about him but I think she truly only loved jack. And although suliet took a couple episodes only, that was a much more mature relationship that the both of them actually worked hard to build.
