Oh....a BEE Bopper!!! Dig that craaaaaaaazy Bopper name! beebeebeebeebeebeebeebee!!! Cooooool man! Real George!! Gimmie some skin.......gimmie some skin!!! Shemp always was #1
how does anyone see any 3d here? ive got the glasses both types the red and blues and the newer style ones neither work at all the needle is the only thing that worked a little bit but just barely lol
They do should this type of 3D with the new Transformers movie. say it's gonna be 3D then just show a extreme close up of Shia driving at random times. and then back to regular viewing. lol i bet so many people would be so pissed lmao.
I've never seen it mentioned, but have you Stoogephiles noted that starting with Shemp joining the boys, the gags got weirder and weirder (today, I think we would say they were "sick"!); an example here is the notorious "Shemp-Bat"--e-beeb-beeb-beeb-beeb! Now THAT is sick! Moe's one opportunity to give the audience an eye poke and they botched it! Darn it! This was lots of fun--thanks for posting!
Other than the first 10 seconds of credits, there is no 3D effect at all, the quality is so poor. It's just "power of suggestion" you think its 3D just as everyone praised the Emperor's New Clothes. It was of course 3D in theaters, using polarized glasses, vs red and blue, but not red and green as stated above.
They ran this in 35mm dual-strip polarized 3D at Film Forum in NYC a few years ago. What an experience! I also have 8mm excerpts of this in 3D - my first experience with 3d movies. Thanks for posting the complete film!
This is one of my favorite all time Shemp-i-sodes! I used to watch this one every Halloween after trick-or-treating. They'd have a 3 stooges marathon with all spooky episodes and I'd eat my candy and watch em late into the night! Aaah the good ole days. How I miss being a kid!
Red left eye glasses provided with some home videos work best for this rather blurry offering. I love this corny old film... I last saw it theatrically presented at the 3-D film festival held at the Los Angeles Tiffany Theater back in the 1970's.
i can tell you who played the its not shemp or curly it was probly jack or iveing moe shemp and curlys older brothers nothen is known about those 2 guys
what if south park made fun of the stooges this way stan as moe kyle as larry cartman as curly kenny as shemp butters as joe besser lugie that kid from ep tooth fairy as curly joe comment on my channel
That jive talking riff that Shemp goes into at 1:33 is hilarious....and capped off with Moe throwing the pen into his nose. People will still watch and love the Stooges 200 years from now!
Yes it is! I always thought that was Shemp. You can see that his mouth was a little paralyzed from his strokes. This must of been shot sometime in 1951 because Curly died in January of 52.
No way!! Curly died before this short hit theaters. No proof merits that it's Shemp either. The lip quiver is different from his. Sounds fabricated. Then again I don't really know.
@pickard72 -- A sharp object left on a chair for some sap to sit on seems to be a signature Stooge gag--I've seen it done with a pincushion, thumbtacks, a bear trap, and a German pickelhaube helmet.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that, ironically, one of the production crew was blind in one eye, so he couldn't see in 3-D, and didn't get what all the fuss was.
I hope this episode and the other one, "Pardon My Backfire" gets re-released in 3-D with a pair of 3-D glasses on a future Three Stooges DVD Collection. On a side note, 1953 was THE YEAR of 3-D movies and shorts.
And the lovely Norma Randall guest starring as Georgi Be Bopper. Not quite as gorgeous as Christine McIntire or Nannette Bordeaux who were regulars during most of the Shemp era but still pretty enough. Was Norma in any other shorts?
I'm watching it now with red/blue 3D glasses. The crappyness of youtube washes out most of the detail but you can still get a little bit of a 3D effect.
good thing I brought my 3D glasses
