when my computer downloads it it downloads as some sort of encrypted file of some sort, not a music file. is this my computers settings or is it the file? Sorry I dont know too much about this kind of stuff. Still learning...

@100xines As long as you aren't downloading the songs and then putting them on CD's for your friends and family, it's perfectly legal. If you download for personal use only, you shouldn't have any problems with " the law ".

@Cheetosgoku No, if the music's free it's illegal, no matter the website. If you're downloading just 1 or 2 songs that's fine, you won't get a fine or something. Just don't download 500 songs or something like that. Music is sold for a reason.

@Cheetosgoku It is legal if you don't give the music to anyone. Personal use only. That doesn't mean you should always get free music though. You should still support bands by purchasing their songs on iTunes and making a Last (dot) fm account so they get paid when you listen. You should only use mp3skull if you can't afford to purchase the music.

@yourmombetrollinonme Yes, not all browsers say "Save Link As." "Save Target As" is what you should do. Everything else should be the same no matter what browser you use.
