  • It's sad that music of today doesn't measure up to the quality of music during this time. Wtf happened to the music industry?

  • innocent..???she;s playing theatre..!!!

  • oh my gosh....this was my song! and video! I loved alexander and cherrelle.....

  • i just watched their tvone unsung. it was very interesting. i didn't know about the details cause i was just a kid when this was out. but problems or no problems i love their music together or apart. it takes me back too!!!

  • oh, that's why he got slapped. he said "you're sure to lose your innocence". i hardly understood what he said.

  • That cook does look like President Obama at 3:01. LOL! Anyways this tune brings me back to my AirForce days out west in Arizona. We partied the hell out this song. And AO and Cherrelle's Saturday Love. Folks they just don't make music like this anymore. Bring back the 80's please!! The fashions were the bomb too. Notice the Prince/Morris Day/Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis sound to this track. The Minneapolis flava. Electronic synthesizers. Those were the days.

  • no doubt AO was the sh!t, but he does remind me of my aunts creepy, drunk boyfriend (uncle Leroy!)

  • @TheTiki1111 ahahahaha!

  • He was fly!! He kept it real with Cherelle...

  • He was fly!! He kept it real with Cherelle...

  • all these negative comments about Alex...is just pure envy....shut the hell up and focus on ur own life. LOSERS!!

  • 2 of the best single artist ever in r&b music!NOT to mention, they were so great 2gether,they still must be considered 1 of the best music duos of ALL TIME! THESE 2 HAD A MAGIC THAT CAN NOT BE COPIED!

  • one of my favorite songs

  • it's O'Neal not O'Neil

  • looks like dirty old pervert tryna get with a underage school girl

  • The analog synthesizer is king!

  • U can here the same instruments in most of the music that came out of that camp... hey if it ain't broke y fix it. They had the sound

  • wow homie from Natchez Ms. an a Alcorn grad damn it's okay he still a homie from the greenacher sub.

  • @lpage87 yea...my grandparents were from woodlawn /college street.....they told me stories of him

  • Toni Braxton.

  • wow he looks so young in this vid.

  • GROWN MAN HITTING ON A YOUNG GIRL LOOK AT HIM HUNGRY FOR THE INNOCENT

  • great song !!!

  • Isn't this the same diner Janet Jackson made "What Have You Done For Me Lately" in? And the SAME cook???

  • @TheLanard Yeah I think you're right.

  • @bolder2009 I guess it was the "Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis" connection.

  • @TheLanard That's the connection that links these song, so it might be that the video was also made by the same director? Maybe I'll look it up later.

  • maneee I don't remember that but that fool need to stop acting like that I know it was the 80's and all but damn was that shish really cool back then like I said I can't even remember..

  • Alex always looked like that freaky brutha approaching you in the club! Talented man, but he always made my skin crawl!

  • @NicoleH73 hahahaha so true he does look super slimey in this vid

  • they were both vegans!

  • I love this song with Alexander and Cherelle. Reminds me of my early twenties, late teens. I remember when Donny would interview Alexander on BET... Remember Donny with the pretty eyes ladies on BET. I wish BET would go back to a music format like they use to be... DAMN.. oh well, love this song...

  • @musiclover77able Thanks and Prince played along with Warner Bros

  • @musiclover77able So why was he kicked out of the group was it over his cocaine habit?

  • Say what you want about the 80's but this shit was cool. The Minneapolis scene taught cats all over the country how to be a suave mofo. It's corny now but cats used to get dressed and cared about their S W A G way more than these tennis shoe and skinny jeans kids nowadays.

  • @jcabm1: OKAAAY? what went wrong with the polished look? Now its oversized tees & blues. That is tired and played out. Bring back the "fly" look.

  • Club 88 East Orange NJ where you at!!!!!!

  • Did Morris Day, Prince and Alexander sit down one day and practice those 'looks' that they all give the ladies? Ok..it's sorta funny now but back in the day..they just melted me!

  • Aside from the Jam & Lewis production, why does this song remind me so much of The Time's "Get It Up?"

  • @hifimagazine Same melody. BASICALLY The same beat with slight differences. But Alex just brings something different with his dope ass vocals. I dont think Morris day can fuck with him vocally.

  • @hifimagazine If I recall correctly IIRC), Alexander was in a band w/ Jimmy, Terry, and perhaps you remember Monte Moir, the white guy of The Time. IIRC, the name of the band was Flyte Tyme. Well, Alexander had a fight w/ Prince, who later signed the group. Prince replaced Alexander w/ Stacey Adams, der, I mean Morris Day. Point is, Terry, Jimmy, & Alexander have a history long before this track.

  • i like the permed hair with no weave makes me wanna kiss her on the neck and put coco butter on her hot comb burns on her neck

  • Love this jam! Used to dance all the time to this back in 1985! I wish they would record again. They are missed! Cherrelle an Alex were the bomb back then along wtih Prince and The Time!

  • Cherelle is tooooo fk'in sexy in this video... watch her closely wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never noticed how very, um, "sweet" looking Alexander O'Neil was until just now...

  • ol boy lookin for a young and tender girl .. innocent .. that niga is going to get 8 to 12 yrs .....molester

  • @sierria64 Lol! it is a little creepy though

  • non refundable, non replaceable, can't be duplicated, can't be lip synched, can't be song by anyone but the great alexander o'neil & cherrelle. god i ask you a favor....will you make it possible for all of us old schoolers to go back in time to do it all over again? we would like the same music, friends, clubs, & respect for others as we had back then. this is when music had great voices, beats, substance, creativity, passion, love, & a meaning. todays music is okay but 75% is pure garbage.70's-90's

  • 2:53 "snap out of it!"

  • alexander used to be in a prince and morris day band called the time.jam and lewis too.totally talented.

  • xi did my makeup like hers everyday in the 8th grade

  • FLYTE TIME IN THE EARLY YEARS ESTABLISHED A SOUND THAT JUST PROGRESSED TO LOCKING UP THEM 80'S

  • which came first? prime times guilty, yarborugh's guilty, or this?

  • obama in this video , holy mother of pearl lol ... anyways this is a classic luv it

  • killer sound ,im look for somethingt to remix , you no wat todays music is wank

  • 25 years later they still sound great live. Check they out on my channel.

  • very nice synth!

  • love it. LOL this is the first time Ive ever seen this video I think. Alex was looking like the gayest thing. LOL Its just funny.

  • I lived for this back in da day... but it's a quarter century ago... go figure.

  • THIS BRINGS BE BACK TO WHEN I MET MY FIRST LOVE AND I MARRIED HIM NOW ITS 2010

  • he is f'd up in this video

  • @iisweet He always looked f'd up. Loved Alexander O'Neil

  • @iisweet in EVERY video! LMBO

  • @iisweet

    LMAO

  • Alexander O'Neil has and had one of the most unique singing voices of all times.

His singing just made you want to listen to him.

    Thank You

  • lol I was 5 years old when this song came out this use to be the jam I still remember the words lol I use to crack up when she slapped im glad im an 80's baby 1980 to be exact

  • I always had a crush on Cherelle since 1985

  • You guys do realize that this song is about a grown rusty ass man lusting after an under age girl?

  • @slimsxyblkwoman soooooo, slim and sexy?? nobody WHINED about it back in '85....but almost everybody's paranoid now!! i don't think people gave a crap about that back then , as long as he treated her like a LADY. besides, she ends up with him at the end of the video, so she" LUSTED "after him too!!

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Riiight!

  • Loved it then, love it now...

  • look at cherelle lookin' so damn cute! girl, i've been in love with you since '85!

  • OMG, I haven't seen this vid in years!! Last time was when I was 15, and I was in downtown NYC hanging out with friends. I just can't remember exactly where in NYC.

  • classey

  • Young Tender and Innocent.....I can dig that.

  • str8 80's.man this is when music had so much love, passion, substance, creativity & meaning.even the video's look so generic, the artist & beats were great.what happened to artist like this? where did it all start to go down hill?why can't todays artist produce slow jams anymore? why does every artist now have to be hard or gangster?what happened to dressing nice, looking good,& treating the ladies with respect? what happened to dancing all night at the club, then slowing it down every 4 r 5 songs?

  • @str8outtatexas1 ya I've wondered that alot too... I was born in 73, and me and alot of my mates agree that things started to go downhill in 1992... there's always been bad news and shit in the papers... but I remember in 1992 it started to get positively creepy... like there was a mayhem accelerator operating somewhere... and I dunno music started to get kinda crappier IMO... to me it makes sense that kids growing up under gangsters are gonna be influenced by them unfortunately

  • @str8outtatexas1 as for where the gangsters came from in the first place, I think alot of it was Freeway Ricky Ross's crack empire... that lil prick did unbelievable damage to Los Angeles... not only all the gangs fighting for a slice of the massive profits, but the permanent brain damage done by smoking crack... and not saying he was alone... he had suppliers heh... anyway, gangsta rap was born in Los Angeles... Dre's "The Chronic" came out in 1992

  • @leet512 Gangsta rap is originally an East Coast thing. Check out some Schooly D, Just Ice, and Kool G Rap. They are the originators of that style. Ice T's early songs were a ripoff of Schooly D's rap style. Compare Ice's "6 in the morning" and Schooly's "Gucci Time". Also, did you know Tupac was from Baltimore and Ice T is from New Jersey, not Cali?

  • I loved how the cook added in there - hey watch out that's fragile - one of Cherelle's hits from her 1st album ...

  • Eric in a sense Alex was right Prince was a control freak he controlled the purse strings of the ppl in these groups its no wonder these ppl made any money and this spread down to The Time someone on here said Jerome wanted a raise and Morris said FLAT OUT NO!!!!!!!!!This is probably why Jimmy Jam &Terry Lewis left out to be on their own look what happened to them after they left SUPERSTARDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 yeah i heard a rumor that morris wanted a raise and prince told him i create the music so I make most the money...lol roger was something else in those days..

  • @ericcontroversy Then Morris turned around and did the same thing to Jerome when he asked for a raise so what makes him any different according to a rumor.

  • Alexander O'Neil has some feminine gestures n this video like he has n the If You Were Here Tonight video

  • I was just eating at that diner the other day ,its in downtown st.paul ,its caled Mickeys!

  • That is a tight jacket Lex...check it in!!

  • @DetroitTwinz i had that jacket-lol. niggas tried to get on that Westside too. Chicago

  • Man this is a good track! Don't want to use profanity but...this shit rides!!! That video ain't just laying around all over the place either. Real niche post...good lookin out!!!

  • I like these two singers, they are a great singing and video couple.

  • Dal4018... He was the lead of flyte tyme(Terry Lewis Jimmy jam Jesse Johnson which was renamed the time after he left the group....he is a family friend..

  • @cdmoej900 Okay thanks heard a rumor that Alex was kicked out of the group because he was DARK SKINNED

  • Alexander O'Neil & Cherelle, jimmy jam, lewis, nuffsaid

  • This amazing..but when alex came out the mirror that was scary stuff thats not normal lol

  • i remember recording this video on my beta vcr!! DAMN IM OLD!!

  • Stephanie Mills and Teddy Pendergrass? Are you serious? Did they even duet? Sorry I stand by my first claim. Besides Cherelle was / is hot. Did you see her on the Monique show?

  • @DarkJedhi Hey Jedhi when did Cherrelle appear on Mo Nique's show????????

  • Hyperhymz... Alex was the lead singer for the time before being replaced by Morris ...

  • @cdmoej900 Hey Moe sorry to burst your bubble but Alex was never the lead singer for the Time it seems that Warner Bros. had a problem with a dark skinned black man as opposed to a light skin black man so instead of taking Alex the company choose Morris. Its in his bio check it out.

  • He do remind you of Billy Dee. Damn i never notice that.

  • mmm that cherelle is fine...lol and tha M.F. alexander o'neil is smooth as hell lmao billy dee williams smooth

  • Best duet since Marvin & Tammi, and aint been one since. I should get my hair whipped like that again. That's Fresh.

  • @DarkJedhi: Sorry my friend, you forgot about Stephanie Mills and Teddy Pendergrass.

  • ..i love alex's jacket in this video..that's enough leather for four sofas..lol..lol..lol.."gotta a lotta of leather for your living room..gonna give it all to you.."..lol..lol..

  • even more strange is the fact its morning, since denzel is whipping up pancakes!!! fuckin awesome

  • this is fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1and "i didnt mean to turn you on" !!!!!!!!!!!! love the 80s, great, awesome......love to get wasted and find good songs like this!!!!!!!!!!!88888888888888888888000000000000000000000000000sssssssssssss!!!!!!

"oh girl, why you smack me~!!!!!" LOL

  • for those who don't know, his attitude is exagerated for the video. he's got that little richard thing going with his eyes at 2:52. he's not a fagot.

  • this sounds a little like The Time's-Get it up.

  • sounds like prince.

  • @wh0m33 actually you are not far off Alexander was slated to be the leader of "The Time" which Prince produced. Alexander and Prince had a falling out and Prince put in Morris Day in Alexanders place and the rest is history.

  • *hits Cherrelle on the nose with newspaper*

    NO Cherrelle...NOOOOOOO!

  • Alexander O'Neil has all the girls on him in his videos!

  • lol Man Alex kept that hair slicked BACK lol wow!

  • @corey84 lol... he was reportedly coked out...but what a great voice. Saw him in Columbus summer of '88. He was fantastic.

  • @slynnmiller Lynn yes Alex had drug problems when he was young he used cocaine.

  • @dal4018 one of the reasons prince put him out the group...

  • @ericcontroversy Okay well what was the deal with him being denied by Warner Bros to be the lead singer of The Time I heard it was because he was too dark skinned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dal4018 alex thought prince had to much control ova things..morris was the better front man anyway...

  • I had not see this video before now. It makes my stomach hurt. He looks like the big bad wolf.

"Hey little girl. What you got in the basket? Where you going? I see. You have a beautiful day, now, OK?" She goes on her way, he hightails it to the Grandma house to devour her. I knew some wolves like that. Whew! Those were the men you stayed away from. I was a teen when this song came out. I was running for my life! It was either run or else you might lose your uh, panties.

  • Guess she is going to show him she is not the innocent little girl he thinks she is. This is a bad story, Bad. Bad!

  • song is hot ......but he look like a faggot he must be on coke or somethin in this

  • Since you know so much about being gay you must like his look,ya busted dick eating punk!

  • @Screamingdk lol respect

  • @beefcakeyamato Ya I heard that! back at ya!

  • man i miss da 80's. i saw the time, vanity, and prince, on the 1999 tour front row, they dont makem like this anymore.

  • Give it up for Jam and Lewis.

  • This is the original dirty old man song, and I like it!!!

  • Woow, I loved this song and the Alexander O'neal album back in the day. I was in grade school. Never saw the video until today--imgagine that, 25 years after the song came out. I consider this a classic 80s song. Along with Cherelle's Artificial Heart.

  • Hey over there, watch it that's fragile! Innocent....

  • OMG I wore out this album right out of high school. I love it today just like back then......none BETTER!!

  • she looks so much younger than him. Love this song tho i have the longer version on my Ipod that's 7 minutes long. Lol

  • Hate to bring such debbie downer tone to this but the lyrics has such strong pedophiliac undertones.

First words are "young and tender" .. she's suppose to be a high school aged girl from the wardrobe.

  • -_-

  • @supercooled As I said, its a dirty old man song. 'Course, there's lotsa cougars out there now too.

  • Man I forgot this video and song, I was in the 7th grade and I loved it then and now, Yes this is true Jam and Lewis, it sounds just like "Get It Up", when they were with the Time!!

  • @chuckjam27 I loved Get It Up and I never realized the similarities until now. Both good cuts. But the Time was so tuff they'd steal the show from Prince when they opened a concert.

  • love this song i hope they are still together

  • WOW NO WMG RESTRICTIONS, today is my lucky day

  • Does anyone know how i can find a song i dont know who recorded it or the name of it? I only know these words Why do you have to look for love outhere when theres so much love here? Youre always on the run, I know youre having fun.. I thought Cherelle sand it.

  • 'So Much Love' by B Angie B

  • Listen to the classic Jam and Lewis sound

  • this is my shhhhhhit

  • Hope there happily married still, great duo !!! I Always enjoyed there music !!!

Thanks for sending this track !!!

  • This cut bring back memories.. cold jam!

  • Jesse, Terry, Jimmy, Alex, Prince, and of course Morris!!! As Michael Jackson sang "Remeber The Time"!!!!!!!

  • Damn! Took me back. Taft High, Woodland Hills, Ca. 1984!!!! Loved this song back then!!!

  • I was 8 when I first heard this song on the radioa back in 1985 in Philly!!!!
