  • good job.

  • this is the worst thing I have ever heard in show choir.

  • in every performance the trumpets blast like hell at the beginning

  • this was so bad ass! i got to see this twice live and it was awesome.. and this year was just as good (taping in chucks?) whhaaat? yeah thats tight

  • uhhh.....better luck next time

  • starting at 0:57, it will look like Burbank Insync 2009's opener. just pointing that out.

  • you WOULD point that out.

  • so this opener from 2008 looks like burbanks 2009 opener....hmm....did you just say your school copied someone else? woooow.

  • @bigsick3270 it was a reply to fluffyduckies

  • Please tell me some of you saw the Greece athena show choir opening in 2005... i dont know who choreographed this, but it is awful...The choral sound is lacking, and not only that but the masks are just hiding the horrible acting ability. There is no intensity in anyone.

  • have you even watched the other videos from this group? im so sick of people like you just posting crap because they dont like others. its immature and makes you look like a jerk.

  • oh wow. yeah, i have seen the greece athena video - it made me laugh really hard. you're not supposed to dance to this song! and before you go dissing the "lacking choral sound," perhaps you should do some research. you're insulting the best concert choir in the state of indiana, nine years running.

  • First of all, unless you personally own the copy of greece athena from 2005, you have NOT seen the athena opener of O fortuna. You more than likely saw the Fame07 video on youtube. They DO NOT dance to this part of the song in the opener. And I dont care about your concert choir, im listening to this video, where the choral sound is not good.

  • the same could be said about this video then, couldn't it? i was at fame chicago, and let me tell you, the choral sound was anything but weak.

  • The choral sound on this video is not good? Are you deaf?

  • Listen to this group (on youtube) sing their "straight" repertoire as a concert choir. It is nothing short of amazing that these kids sing such a diverse range of music. As a concert choir they've been named state champs of Indiana numerous times (as well as show choir state champs).. How many choral programs can boast such achievements... um, NONE... oh yeah, I have NO affiliation with this group.. just an objective observer.

  • @lifenolove tones of show choirs can say that.

  • @bigsick3270 Tons*

  • ppl also sang back stage u guys should learn more bout show choir an how it works lol this is great vocals but CP cant sing this way and dace like a carmel, huntington north, central sound or center grove but everytime i here this i get chills i love CP!!! i miss CS an show choir tho....

  • Yes NC doesn't have real choreo in this number but on the contrary, the reason why Carmel, HN and CG have good vocals is because they have "armography" where mostly their upper bodies are constantly in grand motions, whereas NC has real choreo including footwork AND armwork. They received Best Choreo AND Best Vocals at FAME NYC in 2006.

  • Carmel and CG dance very well!!! they have amazing DANC technique not just Armagraphy. HN does have alot but they tap very well!!!

  • The whole choir was on stage. There were no extras that were placed in the wings for extra sound.

  • that would be cheating.

  • They are known as the CULT choir. lol. i love them

  • North central is the best group in the country in my opinion! I'm excited to see you guys next year!

  • They blow me away every year..I am more obsessed with them then the showchoir i was in..and ive been out for almost 3 years.

Pat Wiehe is a genious. Keep it up NC

  • Love this song; practically my favorite part of the set. Gives me shivers every time.

  • the best song vocally and the stomps are awesome. goosebumps.

  • I'm sure everyone in my choir knows this is my favorite song this season. Great job, Counterpoints.

  • NC Counterpoints is a concert/show choir. They have been

the State Grand Champions in Indiana Concert Choir for the past eight years running. O Fortuna is right up their alley.

They don't usually start working on the show choir set until late in the first semester. Think that's a testament to the kids in the group, their director, choreographer and music arrangers.

  • so for the record, my mom posted this COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT COMMENT using MY name. ugh. sorry.

  • This number gives me goosebumps every time I see it!!

  • I saw them perform at FAME. The song impressed me so much. Good job, Counterpoints!

  • it's so amazing how the mics in FAME are only in the front and you can still hear them from the very back of the stage in the opener

  • That's a testament to their training. I think many Swing/Show choir directors forget the fact that these ensembles are choirs FIRST and then dancers.

(FYI: I have no affiliation with North Central HS)

  • this gave me chills.

    i saw this live.

    so amazing.

  • !!!!!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG EVER. i seriously almost peed my pants when i saw it on north central's song list.

  • good job cp. ima LC CENTRAL SOUNDER and i have to say i see n your show 3 times and u guys never sounded better!!! im so proud of yall. and congrats on 2nd at state. CS didnt have a great performance but we got killed in visuals but its coo

  • This is my favorite number of NOrth Central. it's dang amazing. wow

  • Strangely, I think this sounds better on video than in person! Being there, I thought their sound was a bit too small and 'h.s. concert choir'-ish for this number, but on here - it comes off a lot stronger. This piece really is the realm of symphonic or opera chorus voices - and in this case, I guess they came a lot closer to that than I originally thought. Good for them!

  • Well for the most part the performance of it is Very good. The singing technique is there... It's just the fact that 50 people cannot effectively sing a piece meant for 300 voices... lol But the fact that it doesn't sound like Crap proves how vocally stunning CP actually is

  • It also didn't help them that their staging has a good half of the group leave for a costume change at the end in the middle of that last chord, just when it really needed everybody with a pulse to create some vocal sound. They did quite well considering - but I probably would have subtracted some points for an ill-thought out transition that just did really do them any favors. But - any other group attempting this same thing would have failed miserably, so yes - a testament to NC's training.

  • just out of curiosity...did u see them in person? the people that were left on stage brought so much vocal power that you could barely tell that most of the choir left.

though i do agree with the fact that the ending would be better with everyone on stage, the power that was left..was increadible.

  • If you read up a couple posts here - you'll see that I mentioned that I did in fact see them live in person. And in person, I could REALLY tell that half the group left. I still think it sounds better on tape for some reason. The remaining singers did work very hard, and accomplished quite a bit on their own - but that staging did them NO favors in my opinion, and I feel the end kind of faultered because of it. The CP have some amazing skills, but this number has some irritating problems for me.

  • @pianoman012688 this is totally not meant for 300 singers exactly...it's meant for people that can actually sing it....most choirs who preform this typically have only 100- 200 something ppl

  • Absolutely stunning vocals. I cannot believe this is a high school show choir!

  • Holy crap. Incredible!

  • THATS MY CP!

    GET IT!!!!!

They need to fix that mic situation cuz the band and floor mics are too loud...

  • OMG COUNTERPOINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    SO GREAT!!!!!!

the band is a little loud...

and so are the floor mics.

  • It wasn't the floor mics as much as they were literally stomping the ground when they walk down the plats.

  • God this was cool.

  • Hooray for good show choir!

  • Wow... Impressive... Love the choreography... Little darker rounder sound from the men would be nice, But for 50 people when most that attempt this are atleast 150 strong... Very impressive

  • they sound great!
