I remember watching this on TV back in 1984. What a superb performance, well sung, deliciously acted, absolutely great. Cenerentola is in many ways a better work than Barbiere.

I agree for the beginning. But I prefer the Barbiere ! La Cenerentola is somehow doing too much. The Barbiere is funny but natural.

Perhaps thirty years ago, when this very production of La Cenerentola was done by PBS, at half-time (in the interval following the first act) Flicka gave a lovely, thoughtful interview in which she poke of her daughters and of Cinderella.  Unfortunately the geezers at Deutsche Grammohophon Geezelshaft foolishly did not include this fine interview as part of their DVD release.

Can somebody who loves Flicka post this interview.

Magnífica y bellísima Frederica, como siempre. Gran voz y perfecta interpretación. ¡Una gran actriz, además de cantante!

Es la mejor Cenerentola, como también fué el mejor Cherubino y la mejor Rosina. Quizás habrán mejores mezzosopranos, pero ninguna que enlace voz, gesto, personalidad y belleza como Flicka.
