its like playing bohemian rhapsody with a Yamaha SA503TVL

  • This is by far one the best versions of this song I have heard. Thank you..........

  • if he did this in like 2006, he must be like god like at playing guitar now.

  • play in Eb you should :P

  • best cover of this song ive ever seen! is ur tele a meican made or american?

  • you like hendrix, don't you?! Oh, and I loved the way you expressed the music

  • very skillful. plenty of soulful playing.

  • Brilliant. Thanks

  • carphius; SUPERB! It's a hard one to do on a Tele because Jimi used the vibrato bar at the end. I was lucky to see Jimi perform this song at an after hours jam (private jam). This was in the UK. He hadn't named it yet and just explained that it was a tribute to his hero, Curtis Mayfield. Curtis's trademark was this very soulful, broken chord style. You nailed it. Don't worry about the criticism that you'll get..EVEN Jimi never played the same song the same way twice.

  • wow your a lucky person...

  • lacadam; Thank you! There were many who 'experienced'(sorry for the pun)far greater stuff. A close friend of mine actually backed JH on drums during a jam. I think back in the 60s/70s some rock stars were far more accessible. Like John Lennon, i think Jimi loved to mingle with the public..especially amateur street musicians. Sorry to digress from "carphius"s SUPERB version of this tune.. This video has inspired me to attempt this tune again after many years.

  • very good. Im impressed

  • dude! who cares if he got it wrong, it's still a good cover

  • you see uses his thumb to get that octave, so stfu

  • wut is that effector ?

  • vibrato!

  • carphius; On 'youtube' yours appears to be the closest to Jimi's in relation to sound and ,most of all, timing. Most others have the wrong tone or are too fast. Your ending is quite different to Hendrix's. (I think he used the chords A,D(B bass),C (A bass),D11th.) But your interpretation is beautiful.

  • carphius; The more i listen and look at your clip the more i love it. What i also like is that it's easy to follow your fingers. It's a great visual representation to learn the song from. Most of the other clips of this song, although nice, are very hard to follow (filmed distantly). I could never learn this song from the record as the timing is hard in places.(slips into 3/4 timing occasionally)

And your speed is absolutely perfect. Thanks a million for this one.

  • @carphius really great job!! sounded beautifull. did you learn it by ear or tab , if tab can i have it pls :) once agian superb m8

  • DAMN dude you're just great

Thx nothing more to say ^^

  • simply beautiful..thanks

    Mark

  • Wow, that's amazing!

  • Beautiful! Was this hard to learn? I really wanna learn it some day...

  • best hendrix song definately

  • hell ya, that was cool man!

  • Have You Ever Been To Electric Ladyland...

  • hes playing a fender telecaster it sounds mexican but Im not sure zqltiiczql

  • Your sound is so clean most other people play it so messy. This gave me chills, man. Nice Job!!!

  • quality...

  • nice

  • Just watched the short clip of a young John Frusciante freaking out on the original. This is every bit as soulfull as the Hendrix version. You are an excellent musician, well done to you. I watch this clip time after time and am learning to play it - thanks a million and keep up the good work.

  • rock on man good stuff!

  • thats was amazing, could you please send me tabs if you get a chance?

  • That was fantastic playing! I LOVE tthat version of Electric Ladyland. Very soulful.

  • damn that was awesome

  • Nicely done. Especially where you have to improvise the last few bars as you dont have whammy bar. Cool

  • what guitar is that? btw very nice playing

  • Damn man,you nailed it! Great job! And you do it clean, just beautiful. I'm going to have to study this one.

  • All of your videos are briliant!nice.

  • How does he do it ladies and gents?! (lots of practise i'll wager!Lol!)

like every thing you play manny, this was Superb, a joy to watch and listen to, thanks!!

    Long live Jimi Mk2!!! Lol!

  • Very well done sir, spot on. Could you do me a big favour and tell me how to play the chord 22-23 seconds in?

  • thats the slide right? I take the 4th fret on the low E string with my thumb and do the slide while I let that note ring , the complete tab of the chord is : 4x647x , you should slide 2 frets up

  • Greatly appreciated.

  • @BlackNapkin39 just in case you don't know, that 22 secs in chord is a G# minor 7th. You can hit a G# bass note ..slide into an ordinary G#min 7th then add an F# which is the B string at the 7th fret. It is a superb video...

  • played perfectly, but for that first A just hit the A note instead of the whole A chord then to into the C#m7. This is the way hendrix does it i believe....but you could not have played it any better!! keep it up!

  • thanks ! yeah, I play it very similar to the hendrix version but I give it a personal touch... thanks for the comment! greetzzzz

  • great job!!!

  • Wow , you definately have the jimi vibe , you cant learn that in books. keep entertaining , a joy to listen to!

  • wow this is unbelieve able ur the first person ive seen get electric lady land right man keep posting

  • beautiful

  • Flawless...kudos to your playing my friend

  • very nice! This is the wonderful version from the four-disc box set "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" cd2 track 11, incredible sound, brings you in electric ladyland... Hendrix was a guitar virtuoso ok but he was above all one of the greatest composer, which makes him eternal. i remember him as a composer, definitively

  • excuse me? Is there another version of this song? I NEED that, now!

  • Nice tone carphius, nice tele, are you using a chorus pedal here?

  • a bit of vibrato , not too much , just enough to give it that little extra ;)

  • Oh yes, that was fantastic.

  • Wow. This is just beautiful; agreed, perfect tone, beautiful, clean...

What a treat!! Keep it up!

  • perfect tone loved it.

  • beautiful...

  • wow! do some more! just fantastic!

  • I just found what I need to fill in the gaps, great. Great job by the way, love it.

Check my version, looks like i need to try again!

  • perfection, dont you wish Jimi had recorded a longer version?

  • yeah, i do... his instrumentals are genial, I should learn his room full off mirrors instrumental on the experience boxset!

  • It is rare to hear these more delicate compositions from guitar-slingers... Jimi covered *all* the bases, not just the acid-rock, blazing, burning soloes that so many favor. Job Well Done, my Brother, you truly Represent!

  • Great job,do you have a transcript or tab for that version?

  • That is insanely good. I'm tempted to take my version down out of shame.

  • please don't :-D i like yours!
