I think this one was used for the pilot the first time it aired on TV before there was enough footage to make the opening montage. They also did it for season 1 of SG-1 using the cross-eyed mummy sequence from the movie and also when they changed the opening credits in season 6 where the first 2 episodes are a shot of the gate spinning around and no cut scenes.
