I bought the DVD and found out it was dub only and promptly returned it. Dangaio is my favorite anime ever, but god that dub was AWFUL (the subittled version was messed up to, but at least they were just subtittles)

@Geshpenst Actually, the series was phenomenal. One of the best in fact. Sure, the plot wasn't mind-blowing but it was meant to be a tribute to 70's super robot shows. This anime has more style and heart that pretty everything made these days put together. Hunt down the original japanese or subtittled version and watch the real version.

I remember Manga's dub of the Appleseed OVA was pretty similar in quality. I think they figured that if there was random cursing in it, it would be more "mature" and hence easier to take seriously. At least the DVD had the Japanese track on that release...with this, it was just the English.

Only Roll Kuran, the guy with blue hair, can pilot Dangaioh. The others can lend him their energy if need be, but basically they have to sit and watch while he fights. It works out well in the series though.
