The plot to this is not poor at all. I, too, was thrilled to find there had been a movie made of the book because I absolutely adored it. Also have they removed the whole role of Slavko Cherznyk?

I thought The Teacher was one of the best villians I have ever read - I mean you know he's crazy and dangerous but you can't help but like him.

@Jess54321713885 I loved everything about this movie except for the cheesy ending. I could deal with the fact that she got there before him, but the shootout was so cheesy to me. I wish they would have picked a better ending. But I agree, The Teacher was awesome, especially when he was drunk at the end, and screaming at her on the phone......great acting!

@zman740 Actually, the film is great - one of the closest book to film adaptations I've ever seen although they took a whole subplot out - but yeah if you didn't like the ending read the book. It shows what she'd go through to help her son rather than she just happened to turn out there, she goes through a lot to get there & the final shootout is very different from her going down and shooting him, the book version shows how the small community come together to help even people they don't know.

@zman740 Yeah a lot of the film was. The book is definitely worth a read, it's great & I'm hardly surprised at how much of a let down the film turned out to be, but that's why books should stay books not films.
