  • badass ! good job guys!

    Ooorah!

    Lcpl. Shah

    USMC

  • This is a very interesting video. I was with Small Craft Company for 6 years ( the Marine Corps Unit that the Navy took the mission over from) And I always wondered how it progressed.

  • i am confused are they navy or marines and also what is the eye sight requirement cause i want to join since two of my uncles were navy and my third uncle was a marine i hope i make i will give it my all

  • what is the eye sight requirement

  • So these aren't SWCC...? lol im lost whats the difference..?

  • Perhaps less of an IED threat?

  • With respect to all present and former serving members of all branches; are not good warriors well-rounded? You didn't see any Navy Mountain Troops, or Air Force Submarine Captains.A good unit takes the mission and "runs-what-it-brung."The fact that the Navy recognized an area that had been neglected, and, actually brought back, a concept from 40 plus years ago should say something. It is people, with sound leadership and a clear doctrine that makes this unit what it is today.

  • some good military history.

  • Talk all you want, but I wouldn't trade my Riverine for all the SEALs in the Navy and all the snipers in the Marine Corps.

  • Seriously? Why are there so many of these wannabe "highspeed" units pooping up since 911. Every branch want a piece of the special operations pie

  • @tuopvm Whaaat?? Different locations produce different fight conditions as well as a need for teams to adapt to and thrive in those terrains and exploit the enemy's weaknesses as well as getting info to the larger forces what their strengths are.

The SEAL's are less than 50 years old.. When I was in an LRS unit I had the chance to briefly train with some ANGLICO Marines and about a decade later they were disbanded then after 911 Stood up in a USMC Reserve. Then 2 years ago LRSD/C's disbanded.

  • @tuopvm That's just how it is.., there will always be a need for certain units in the various services even though many of them will often have plenty of the same capabilities and cross train frequently. LRSD/C's are now RSTA's along Cav Scouts in BFSB's inside of IBCT's.. lol I might be off a bit as to the order of these things due to them being relatively new in the last few years between the Guard & active.

(Recon Surveilance Target Aquisition Teams) (Battlefield Surveilance Brigades)

  • @billyjacc SEALs, SF, RECON, MARSOC, PJ's, ACC, Rangers, LRSD, CAG, they all pretty much do the same things. Some of them operate in different sizes but they pretty much posses the same operational capabilities. They try all try to cover all their bases in order to execute a wide variety of missions. Example- SEALs are supposed to be for maritime missions yet they operate inland to also while SF also has SCUBA teams. When the Army formed CAG, Seals formed TEAM SIX.

  • @There is no need for so many units that all basically do the same thing. It only adds to interservice bickering as the various units and branches fight for a piece of the pie. Look at the UK they have the SAS and the SBS.

  • @tuopvm.. Well you are prolly right but until we get the Airforce back as the Army Air Corps & the USMC joins the NAVY officially & then we ALL become The US Armed Force (One Huge Branch) we'll prolly continue with 20 different teams with overcrossing capabilities.

Until I watched fully did I see how green these guys were & ANYTIME you HAVE to keep saying how hardcore ur unit is & that Ya'll the REAL DEAL then.., yep you'll get tons of criticism & rightly so. SMH

  • This unit effectively replaced my old unit Small Craft Company (SCCo) HqBn, 2nd Mar Div. We were doing the exact same thing up until the unit was disbanded...

  • how do you get into these groups? the reason is ask, is, i wouldn't want to do anything else in the Navy if I couldn't get this ensured.

  • @JustCallMeDtv Hey, I'm assuming you're not gonna know or aren't allowed to say, but do you know around what time that RW will become a rate?

  • I would rather be in SWCC...

  • Funny how they had to do part of the show at SBT20 to get the pbr in the background.

  • i love how all you people who werent even there talk all this shit... i was part of rivron1 and we actually got it harder because they were trying to show everyone that we were tough so we got beat on alot harder than most. 90% of us were BUDS and SWCC washouts??? id like to know where u got that info cause its total bullshit lol. and yes rivron does have screening, its not just a walk on so for all u people just running ur mouth when u have no idea what ur talking about, just shut the fuck up!

  • @theb1440 So the Riverine Squadrons look for loud mouth assholes who whine on the internet right? If your going to claim allegiance to that unit, show some freaking bearing and pride. Try not letting some punk on the internet get to you. And maybe, just maybe, you wont have to talk all that shit to try and gain respect for your unit.

  • quoted from the virginia pilot. shows the caliber of this communities personnel.

  • A Navy lieutenant commander who claimed his service in Iraq led him to download child pornography was sentenced Friday to 40 months in prison.

John J. Hall, 39, who had served in an elite riverine unit, blamed his actions in part on post-traumatic stress disorder, a claim that the judge took into account.

  • Go Ryan - My Riverine! Riverine 2...

  • If you do your research most of the newer SWCC guys are former RIVRON. RIVRON does have a different mission, but due to the similarities it does an awesome job preparing people for SWCC training. You dont call army infantry Green Beret posers. Its a career path. RIVRON also go through the marine corps school of infantry. These are tough, skilled men.

  • wrong. about 90% of these guys are just BUDS and SWCC washouts

  • Ah actually Marine infantry school is not hard... everyone graduates the training. Unlike SWCC and BUDs where there is a very high failure rate. RIVRON has no screening, you just need to be up for orders. Most of them are fat and out of shape.

  • Fucking POSERS. You guys are turds that think they are SWCC

  • Do not even have the same mission as SWCC you cant compare them. Only thing in common is small fast boats and guns.

  • my dad trains them he took us for a ride on one of the boats

  • what is the song that is playing at around 6:50, i know it is playing earlier than that as well.

  • any American willing to confront the enemy of our country is a bad-ass, keep it up guys.

  • RiverInes!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh please.

Just because people in the army fight, does that make them Ranger wannabes? If marines fight, are they just trying to copy MARSOC?

They have different jobs, too. Sure SWCC is special warfare, but Riverine isn't a 'wannabe' act.

  • I agree totally with you man. SWCC is a different team all together. SWCC was made to support Special Operations in exfil, and infil. Riverines acually do some offense.
