  • Why do they call products on a Ship Cargo and products in a Car a Shipment???

  • that is one hell of a bridge, it still worked after it scapled that ship!

    Bridge: 1

    Ships: 0

who wants to play Bridge, Ship, Water next?

  • Captian! I fixed that top-heavy problem we were having!

  • What song is this?

  • Convertible!!

  • Germany, openly torturing and murdering,is a disgrace to humanity.See the generation born between 1930 and 1945.Most of them grew up with the"knowledge"to be the Masterrace, have the right to live at the expence of others. When they had to begin working in the 1950s,Germany started importing foreign workers, allowing them to stay the masterrace. They silenced the generation of their parents about ww2 crimes and persecuted the generation of their children into complete servitude to their state.

  • @wwwtotalitaerde and also in Germany apparantly it is forbidden to mention the Holocaust

  • @tom201090 The one USA show they banned was: "Hogan's Heroes"

  • @tom201090 And he still is enjoying holidays abroad, while my parents are being prevented to leave todays German Nazi state. My parents, born 1933 and 1935 are being tortured while German Nazis go on holiday abroad.

  • @tom201090 Of course its not forbidden to mention the holocaust in Germany.Every German is expected to do his very best to to divert from this horrendous crime.Like blaming Hitler, recruiting foreign revisionists to denie the holocaust and so on.

    And in private:

    Yes,its true,Hitler murderd 6m Jews,but nobody was harmed in the process,right?

Ive even heard from someone running a spy net abroad, including financing antisemitic publications:We did not murder 6m Jews. And that was not enough

  • nice song for a change

  • State employees for you. Bet that bridge operator is perhaps someone politician's cousin and obviously we don't need to comment on said operater's qualifications.

  • i seen this it was the dude who controlss the bridge fault he put it down 2 early

  • The person controlling the bridge had AIDS

  • later the wife said ..I told you you were not going fishing today you S. O .B. as she lowered the bridge

  • Fire in the hole!!

  • :')

  • Think he was late for big brother?

  • actually this accident wasn´t captain´s fault... a drunk mobile bridge operator was responsible of this

  • what video game is this it looks awesome does anybody know?

  • I don't understand how someone in that capacity can make that big of a mistake....really???

  • Just a small mistake. No biggie.

  • That's at least $100 of damage there.

  • What a bugger.

  • Bridge operator was high as a kite on meds

  • whats the name of the song?

  • ship captains are as bad as air traffic control tower sleepers.....get some sleep there pal...jack ass

  • Singapore??

  • could be bridge operator error, it was dropping as the bow had already gone under the bridge...

  • drunk, drugged, a bet or a female captain

  • @NelsonAlfredo - had nothing to do with the captain or the boat. Watch it again. The moron controlling the bridge was lowering the bridge before the boat was completely past.

  • Nice Clearance..

  • Hallo die Musik ist super, kann mir einer sagen wie der Titel heißt.

  • Rock the boat! Dont rock the boat baby!

  • Here is a really detailed account of what happened. Glad to finally know where this was and why it happened! - boatnerd.com/windoc/

  • @asbpgh

I read it web page you referenced (boatnerd.com/windoc/) and it is a detailed account, but the only indication I see in it of why it happened is "...as the pilothouse neared the bridge, the span unaccountably began coming down." So, it's as if it's a mystery as to why it happened.

And the link to the official report by the Canadian Transportation Safety Board is broken.

  • @DonTruman Point was more along the lines of now having an of explanation of the video. From the video it looks like the boat captain drove his boat into a bridge. Just trying to give some info to those that were as curious as I was.

And the link - I updated it on the wikipedia article but the boatnerd people never responded to my email about updating theirs.

  • @asbpgh

Thanks for the update. I just read most of the Wikipedia page, and the conclusions by the Canadian safety board. Sounds like most of the blame is on an "impaired" bridge operator, but apparently there also wasn't a good communication method available for the operator to hear from the ship (for example, "What are you doing dropping the bridge?! Raise it!!!"). And other problems too.

Interesting that the same shipping company had another ship by the same name, that met a similar fate.

  • 1st: Were there any injured?

2nd: Why on earth did they lower the bridge?

I feel sorry for the ship :/

  • Theres a bridge there skipper!!

  • we ve got the winner

  • must be high tide, could've sworn we fit last time.

  • Homer Simpson: "Bridge goes up, bridge goes down, bridge goes up...."

  • The bridge operator lowered the bridge too soon. He was charged with negligently causing reckless endangerment to personnel and damage to a vessel correctly under way and imprisoned.

    tf

  • @tacfoley It's nice that people like yourself look into these things and find out what really happened. I'm amazed that so many other people that viewed this video assume that a river pilot would steer right into a lowered drawbridge. Obviously something else was going on here. Cheers.

  • @tacfoley

Source? Or are you just throwing out shit you know nothing about?

  • @tacfoley did the bridge crew escape? were there any injuries?

  • and thus is the first scenes of the boat coming to the U.S. in Jurassic Park 2

  • That'll buff right out......

  • look son, thats how boats crash

  • ouch, who was running the bridge?

  • music sucks ass

  • Its alright Captain, we'll buff those scratches out later.

  • This is just ridiculous

  • Not epic:( but cool:)

  • LIttle to late to open the fucking bride after it hits it dipfucks

  • not a malfunction, the bridge was operated by a man working ontop of the bridge and lowers/raises it maually. he was called in to work a double shift , and he told them he was at a bbq and had few drinks, was tired and hes an alcholic. he lowered it on the boat, even called the main office saying he cant get the bridge down, kept his job cuz of the union, seaway didnt wanna admit they knew he was coming in drunk so they covered it up. he ties boats now. my family works there so i know its true.

  • That is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever heard..... its obvious that he had gone the wrong way

  • @SILLYCODS lol your joking right?

  • @SILLYCODS Are you for real? Shut your pie hole. And, read.

  • @spittheproper i dont think thts right i saw this on Destroyed in Seconds and they said the boat wasnt able to slow down in time and ended up crashing but i dont know you might be right

  • @spittheproper Its clear you are making this up to try and big yourself up to Youtube viewers..... I dont believe a word of this drivel and neither does my mum!!

  • @SILLYCODS lmao ok big myself up for the purpose of what exactly? :P

  • @spittheproper Youtube showing offishness

  • Seemed like the bridge was coming down before he hit.

  • yeah....just take a little off the top.

  • "No, no no! That button LOWERS the bridge!"

  • remember kids, never text and drive.

  • "Oi! who put that bridge there"?

  • Bridge Operator:Where's the Cheetohs. Boat Captn: Hey, you scratched my anchor.

  • I remember hearing when this was on a TV show that the guy operating the bridge lowered it too early.

  • A little bondo new windows and a muffler its good as new

  • poor bugger had no chance that bridge was coming down on him.. at the point that he cauld have stopped the bridge would have been fully raised but still makes good watching... what will he tell his boss

  • I fought the BRIDGE and the BRIDGE won!

  • Looks like the bridge was lowered on the ship

  • I saw this on TV, he sleept

  • I think that's a convertable..

  • i love it how he bothers to shut the door..

  • Hero of the day:)

  • love how it keeps going

  • hes heading for holland

  • I believe what we have here is a failure to communicate. LOL. Yow!

  • If i was driving/on the boat id be like "oh crap

    But im not so hahaha

  • The operator of the bridge was under some medication and drunk a bit... He was not suppose to work this night and once the bow of the ship pass under the bridge he brings it down

  • If only this captain was steering the Titanic..............history may have been different..............all I know is I would feel safe with him on board

  • lol

  • That's it, no more union hires!

  • Was he drunk or Drugged or was it a bet.

  • i used to live around the corner from where that happened i went down and seen the carnage

  • Guys this was the bridge operators fault. That ship has driven that route for donkey years. Look it up.

  • what an idiot. and i thought the draw bridges were made to prevent that kind of thing lmfao

  • nice :D

  • drink driving :O

  • bet a memo came out the next day captain wa probably on the terlet

  • This happened in Throtold (Allanburg), Ontario. The bridge operator was drunk and lowered the bridge while the freighter was passing.

  • DERP *Facepalm*

  • Unexcusable, period. I am a Sailor and there are ZERO circumstances where this is acceptable. Also why my insurance rates got jacked up is people like this, pray they suffer years and years of the worst prisons humanity has to offer...

  • drug test...

  • LOL it happened next to Holland Rd... the country mostly know by having loads of sailing experience

  • The captain had not been cleared. Traffic was backed up from previous que of another ship, however this captain simply didn't want to wait, and met with expected responses. I hope all future captains can learn a good lesson here about no patience.

  • Nice music Piet Veerman - Sailing Home

  • its the bridge operators fault, they are supposed to open the bridge if any boat crosses the bridge.

  • To anyone wondering...everyone survived unhurt...it was the bridge operators fault who was drugged up on pain killers and booze during the incident. You can find the report from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada...just look for Windoc, 2001.

Sadly, this loss crippled an 87 year old shipping business, and in a lawsuit against the shipping canal authority, they are trying to get the value of the lost vessel, but the authority is trying to claim it was the boat operator's fault.

  • @llamaero1234 Hey that's not true. My sister in laws husband was the first mate on that ship and he said that the captain was plastered and didn't see the red light in time from the bridge operator...

  • Actually, according to the TSB official report, the bridge was raised, but then inexplicably lowered with no time for the ship to stop. The ship also repeatedly blared its horn, which is how this video was caught as local residents came out to see what all the commotion was about.

Please read the accident report, it's actually pretty thorough.

  • pwnt!

  • what better than that... FIRE!!!

  • Ooops...I was just jackin off in a toilet...

  • Ooops...

  • what a fcuking moron lol

  • he got himself a cabrio

  • It appears as though the bridge is moving down. I'm guessing the bridge was up and the boat was in the clear... then the bridge was moved down... either the boat didn't have enough time to react, or the bridge was in their blind spot and they assumed they were still in the clear. Then, it looks like the bridge is forced back up by the boat... but also starts moving up on its own power afterward... which suggests there is someone manning the bridge.

  • @BOBXLII yup it was the bridge operator accidentally moved the bridge down instead of up

  • Thumbs up if this vid is better on mute.

  • He was probably on youtube at the time..

  • Don't you hate when that happens.

  • I guess it fits nicely under there now...

  • I love ignorance

  • The ship is on fire, a total wreck, but yet, he finds it important to shut the door

  • What's the name of this song and who's singing it?

  • @firstmusic00 Never mind....I found it. "Sailing Home" by Piet Veerman.

  • I think it turned out to be this bridge opperators fault i saw this on t.v.

  • How come they let the bridge down? Such a big boat cant just break in 100 meters...

  • he didn't want to block the street !!!

  • I HATE it when that happens!

  • bridge win, bridge operator fail.

"was he drunk or drugged ?" both, FTW.

  • was smi155 drunk when he said those comments? this world is going straight to the shit hol and smi155 is the exact reason why. P.S. everybodiez aware that smi155 was the captain that crashed that boat right? thus the defensivness about the truth that smi155 waz hammered when he took the top off that boat off and hurt all those innoncent people because of his vodka problem. he was also on facebook at the time.

  • The birdge operator is probably like "BWHAHAHAH!!!!"

  • He was probably texting

  • @jazzman90405

Either him, or the guard at the drawbridge was... :-D

  • @jazzman90405 LOOOOLLL

  • That ruins your whole evening... :(

  • That might suck a little.

  • @BBCSHEEPNEWS No I was not on this boat, nor did I know anyone on this boat.

But it would be nice if some people respected others. People should not go on here and say, "was he drunk or drugged" just because they watch a video.... maybe they should do a little research. This world is going straight to the shit hole and this is the exact reason why.

  • nice song lolx

  • !!!!HOLLAND!!! (road)

  • @TheAnoniemo Man, we mogen ons wel schamen voor de finale... HUP HOLLAND!
