I mean Resident Evil turned out good on the NDS so did KH 358/2 days as well but i mean the touch screen for MGS could be used for weapons and items and stuff (meaning weapons selection as well as discarding because run to slow) *sigh* but Konami won't do it and Sony is paying Konami millions and millions of dollars just for the ps selection... but then again you never know what companies have up there sleeve :)

I second that it _would_ be possible, and really cool. PSX was simply inviting to waste space, and NDS has a much faster CPU to handle complex online decompression of sound and animation data.
The mockup is incomplete IMHO. It needs the UI elements stripped out of 3D view and placed into the touch display - viewing all weapons and accessories and allowing to select them with a single touch. In codec mode, the top display should be darkened and blurred, not black.
Only thing holding this game back on the ds, is seriously the space issue. You really need about a gig and a half for this game. Still....you have the issue of the ds not being able to play high quality sound. No matter the source.
The DACs on DS are alright, they were even OK on GBA.
Playstation version didn't care about storage, since it had tons to waste.
As to speech, with GAX by shin'en it was 15 minutes per megabyte even on GBA, with music being virually free due to softsynth. I'm sure one can get better speech compression on DS by using Klatt analysis, also used in GSM and Skype.
A 2-CD Resident Evil 2 (PSX) was also ported into a 64MByte N64 cartridge.
they could remake the original metal gear games form the arcade and plsu they could intoduce the newest elements from mgs3 with the sneaking techniques and stuff

Yes, there is a Splinter Cell Game for DS, so theoretically and practically MGS would be possible - BUT (And I say this with a huge resounding wake-the-neighbours style) - Graphics for Splinter cell were godawful, as was the control system. If they do Make MGS, I pray they dont look at that game for inspiration.

Well, yes and no... The Wii's best selling video game is "Wii Sports," which comes with the console itself. Although they're marketing to all audiences, they're getting the most business out of casual gamers at the moment. I won't deny they've put out a lot of truly great games, though.

I second that it _would_ be possible, and really cool. PSX was simply inviting to waste space, and NDS has a much faster CPU to handle complex online decompression of sound and animation data.
The mockup is incomplete IMHO. It needs the UI elements stripped out of 3D view and placed into the touch display - viewing all weapons and accessories and allowing to select them with a single touch. In codec mode, the top display should be darkened and blurred, not black.

Only thing holding this game back on the ds, is seriously the space issue. You really need about a gig and a half for this game. Still....you have the issue of the ds not being able to play high quality sound. No matter the source.

The DACs on DS are alright, they were even OK on GBA.
Playstation version didn't care about storage, since it had tons to waste.
As to speech, with GAX by shin'en it was 15 minutes per megabyte even on GBA, with music being virually free due to softsynth. I'm sure one can get better speech compression on DS by using Klatt analysis, also used in GSM and Skype.
A 2-CD Resident Evil 2 (PSX) was also ported into a 64MByte N64 cartridge.

You are both right and Wrong. Yes, there is a Splinter Cell Game for DS, so theoretically and practically MGS would be possible - BUT (And I say this with a huge resounding wake-the-neighbours style) - Graphics for Splinter cell were godawful, as was the control system. If they do Make MGS, I pray they dont look at that game for inspiration.

i agree to make a metal gear solid in DS see to enter the weapons MENU u use the L and R just like u use it in ps1 and ps2 and you have the START and when you ate using the aim shoot you simply use the comtrol to attack and then u use
the stylus to move camera and i think that would be great because the game will have better graphics like twin snakes.....so why not !!!! :D

the twin snakes being for GC was a mistake, it should have been either a PS2 remake, or a DS less matrixy remake, DS can handle some serious graphics, i´d say the DS is the middle point between N64 and GC

As much as I love the DS praise, I wouldnt go as far to say between 64 and GC.. definitely not balanced, at least.
As for matrixy, I thought it worked quite well for MGS, my only major gripe is some of the Music/Dialogue changes, as mentioned.

Exactly ... it lost some of its ... suspense in twins nakes. Really, I don't even know why they had to redo all the voices etc, they should've just stuck to improving the graphics.
