  • I was kid when i would listen to this song on WLS chicago in the 60's. that was the time of the vietnam war and i grew up, got married and one of my sons joined the marines, and went to iraq and we were "blue" but thank God he came home safe

  • I prefer this version I think

  • Nice Song!!

    Thanks.

  • I met her (years later) on an American/German feature film. Her son was a child actor and she was a hoot and and half! That lady has got to write her memoirs one of these days, for sure! Love the song. Thanks for posting!

  • Kurt, if you are out there, I'm still here.

  • I loved this song too when I was a young boy /I changed a line when singing it to say / "My Steady Girl Said 'Ship a World' and Joined The Navy" / SOMETIMES IT'S THE WOMEN WHO LEAVE US MEN 'Feelin Blue'

  • @druhbe1996

My whole heart & soul go out to you young man. Hang in there, you WILL find the girl of your dreams some day!!!

  • summertime cruising song, great stuff! thanks

  • Col from Australia calling in here. If I recall it OK .. this version by Donna was the one which was a BIG hit here in Oz, in the early 60s. Dianne's version was unknown here in Oz, basically .. altho her "Please Don't Talk To The Lifeguard" WAS a smash hit here. RE this song .. Navy Blue .. I actually prefer Donna's sound .. in this particular instance.

  • Nice version

  • another great ed rambeau son.

  • Donna Lynn is very good!!

  • Man, she sounds just like Diane Renay... Incredible!

  • This is a very good remake of Diane Renay's version.

  • Donna was my girlfriend in 1969, she had left the music industry by then, she had two albums as her credit, and earlier as a tween she appeared on Broadway. I always wonder what happened to her after all these years. There's still a twinkle in my heart for that girl, Donna Lynn Albano. Always in my heart.
