  • This really helped thanks. I'm going to try to change the directory though. I don't like the current directory.

  • i dont have fantastico what to do :|

  • I have uploaded the wp files, and created a database, but when I go to my site,

I am just seeing my (new) hosting welcoming page, instead of the create a configure file screen. I am told to replace the index.html file.

    Do I just delete that?

Sorry for such a basic question.

  • I got it sorted out. Somehow the files were extracted into a wordpress folder. All went well after they were moved into the root folder. As for the index file, that simply had to be deleted.

(Hope I'm not double posting - these comments didn't show up when I first posted them.)

  • I'm a little confused.

Do you not need to edit the wp-config-sample file ?

Other tutorials say you need to do that but you have not mentioned this.

Would be grateful for more clarification.

    Thanks.

  • No, you no longer have to edit the wp-config file with the latest builds of WordPress, older version you did need to, but not now. The installation automatically creates a wp-config file based on the information you enter during the web installation, see around 4:50 into the video for that information.

  • Thanks a lot!

I re-watched your video a few times, and was just about figuring that out.

    This is very helpful.

    Thanks again.
