It's pretty good Link doesn't talk(other than the ocasional grunts and what not,and SOME words that he says.)If he did,then we wouldn't be able to imagine the type of person he is.They woul'd have given us a character we couldn't create.

it's kinda like Pokemon,you IMAGINE what the charecter is like.Therefore,I don't see Link as a mute, i just make up random dialouge he could've said in my head. :) Simple!

Link has always been able to speak. Game developers have been afraid to give him a voice though, I.E. a personality. And I don't blame them, because, think about when they did (CDI Link, Legend of Zelda Cartoon.) WELL EXCUUUUSE ME PRINCESS!

Actually after OoT and MM they purposely didn't give Link any vocals other than the sounds he makes as he runs around and fighting so that fans can enjoy the mystery of what his voice sounds like. They don't want to ruin the imagination or expectations of their fans. It's kinda like when the whole Twilight series came out. I'm sorry but Robert Pattinson was not who I pictured at all. Ruined the whole thing for me.
