I don't really know Rin. But then I found out a book of Haru and Rin. Now I know it was in Manga. In anime Rin is not even exist. Ha I am surprise Rin did not chosen as a character in Anime I felt sad for her. I am a big fan of Haru. I hope Rin will be in Anime!

The manga is a total of 23 books, 19 of which are currently published in the US. The anime only covers the events that occur in the first 6 books. Rin and several other charater (like Kureno and Machi) don't show up until after book 6.

They cut off (I'm guessing) about 90% of the story so she was a sacrifice they had to make. Her story would just make it so they would have to add another 3 episodes or so to explain her and Haru's relationship, how they met, and what resulted from it.
