@SeanUCF You have to blame them (and us would have to do the same with Sega Europe as well) for not bringing their own Sega productions. But blaming them for third party games not being released is pointless.
My mistake. I knew "Shadow over Mystara" an official PC release from MCB Interactive. (see playasiaDOTcom) was made - I had just assumed the earlier Tower of Doom was released too.
Yeah, it would have been cool to see this make it stateside. About Shadow of Mystara, I forgot what Sega and Capcom had a problem with. Maybe, it was the cost of the RAM cart.
FYI, since there is Shadow Over Mystara on here, there is another Final Fight reference that you overlooked. In Final Fight 3, a.k.a., Final Fight Tough, one of the characters in that game is also named Lucia, just like the Elf in Shadow Over Mystara.
I have this game on a copy and if anyone would like this game and other rare games hit me up.Your saturn can play copy games by the way just look here
thanks for the upload, it great see and hear how the saturn version measures upto the arcade game, besides the loading screen and the 'fatter' gold boarder where you see your life bar, not too much of a diff, i widsh i had an import saturn, or a cart to let me sat play japanese games, you so lucky
the first game was suppose to have gotten a US release i wonder where things went wrong.. I loved playing these in the arcade (especially shadow over mystaria) and was gonna get this for the saturn but I hear its got bad loading times especially inbetween stages. This is one of those expensive saturn games.
@DigiHatesMakingNames Tower of Doom was indeed going to have a separate release in 1996 or 1997 for both the Sega Saturn and the PlayStation. They ditched the plans when they decided to convert Shadow over Mystaria as well. And despite possibly having the PlayStation port of Tower of Doom completed, they also ditched it because they didn't bother to port Shadow over Mystaria also to this system (in the Sega Saturn it required the 4MB cart, so comprises would have been needed in the PlayStation).
Sega of America ruined my child hood by keeping damn near every good game on the Saturn in Japan. I hate those fuck tards!

how does it compare to the arcade version?
Alianger 2 years ago
The Saturn version is exactly identical to the arcade version. Only difference is. Its 2 players as opposed to four.
Branded1978 2 years ago
There is the original Arcade version, the Sega Saturn version in the "Dungeons & Dragons collection" AND a PC version (NOT mame!) by MCB Interactive.
No Sony PSX version.
DippShits 2 years ago
I have not seen a PC version. Are you sure?

Pity, I would have liked to see it. Not like there's any problem with MAME, just... well, you know.

I haven't one of these games since my last visit to New York, New York's arcade in Las Vegas.
Very Nice.

Very interesting! I didn't know they changed so many little things for this port.
I'm fairly certain this was never on the PlayStation though...
