The poor snake has been de-fanged and is harmless to the child. This is a cruel practice and effectively renders the snake dead in the wild as it cannot hunt for live pray. It has to be hand fed from now on. You've got to ask yourself is it really necessary just so people can see it trying to defend itself against what it perceives as a threat and makes for shocking footage for the layman. BTW in India the fangs and venom sacks will have been removed very crudely, no anaesthetic.

Not that it justifies the situation, but the venom/fangs/etc are taken out of snakes so people can perform "safely" with them. Also, cobras usually don't "constrict" their prey, as the last image could be misleading.

Of course this is not how the western world would raise a baby normally but all cultures are different.
