Wow! This is so cool. I was a little young then, but I still remember this station. I remember the WLAN jingle and how it said "million dollar weekend" on the weekends. I remember that WLAN AM played muzak. At some point, the FM station was broadcast on the AM station at the same time. Where can I go to hear more of these gems?
Wow! Stumbled onto your channel by typing "Lancaster, PA" into the search. So glad I found it. It was like, "Sherman, set the way-back machine for 1971". Born & raised in Lancaster, I grew up listening to WLAN. In 1967 I was singing with Valerie & The Chateaus and the following year I was a founding member of Custer's Last Band. WLAN was always tuned in on my '63 Chevy Impala. Great memories, great pix! Thanx for sharing Dr. Bill!
I was there, Dr Bill! Whenever you didn't play what I wanted to hear, I turned the knob to WFIL, but I always returned. It was right around that time, though, that I discovered the FM dial and someone named Pierre Robert on a station named WMMR.......the home of rock n roll.
