I like both of them. I think Werdum is really a nice fellow - He is not acting like superstar, he is on his feet and always in good mood. On the other hand Alistair is my favorite athlete and I will cheer for him.

When overeem first fought werdum he fought at 205 and wieghted 220 lbs and was winning the fight on feet and was controling him on the ground and got subbed at the end.Overeem is now bigger stronger faster and a better fighter werdum will be ko'd.....

@muchohumpty no i wasn't surprised at all. Werdum isn't Nog, he's not just going to take Fedor's punches from guard for a whole round. He found an opening and he's a BJJ heavyweight champ so he capitalized. But having amazing jiu jitsu alone probably won't get him through this GP. His striking is nowhere near Fedor's or Overeem's and his wrestling is just ok. Plus after the Fedor fight nobody is going to take it to the ground and I don't think Werdum's wrestling is good enough.

He manages to win with less than stellar standup all the time. Fedor may have better standup but he was almost put to sleep in 1 minute. And in a street fight Werdum would put you to break your arm or put you to sleep

If you watch AO's earlier fights he almost always relied on his takedowns which was very impressive already back then and not to forget, he bet Kharitonov ones aswell. Now Overeem is doing the opposite at the same time as Werdum relies on his groundgame which of course is superior to most fighters. But, I have actually never seen Overeem getting submitted either

@eyesea You shouldn't make assumptions, it's quite foolish. Unlike a lot of these Overeem fans, I've been an Overeem fan since his first professional MMA match in 1999 in Haarlem, Nederlands. A mate of mine knew Sander MacKilljan who also fought on the fight card and was unfortunately knocked out in the first round. His vigor and fighting spirit is always a sight to see in the ring/cage. He has indeed had his ups-and-downs but he is nevertheless a true fighter.

@FoodBread well its great to see theres real fans like you around. overeem never got enough credit when he was losing like crazy and he gets too much credit now. his offensive technique both in stand up and wrestling/ground has always been very good especially the striking offense, but his big problem before was being in the wrong weight division. now he's at his natural weight he can finally use his technique, but fighting at the top he has to improve his defense or he will get hurt
