Capitalism is full of greed, for certain, but America really has rode the coatails of a small number of highly motivated, driven, and talented people that have done wonders for the high quality of life we've had here. Corruption is greed's evil brother, and that must be kept in check, but greed isn't an altogether bad thing. It has helped build hospitals, theaters, supplied millions of jobs to regular people. Communism removes motivation, though in theory, it has its merits.

The government is a largely inept and certainly inefficient body, regardless of party affiliation. The smaller they can be, and less intrusive they are into our lives, the more freedom and economic success we will have. Rarely is the govt the solution to anything. Yes, we need a govt for oversight of the private sector. You base your views on what the media is showing you. There are "crazies" on both sides. The problem is that pure capitalism is selfish and id say almost 'evil'/ not really much better than pure socialism, aka communist russia. certainly more economically prosperous, but not that different in terms of cruelty. the 'ideal' system is somewhere in the middle

Capitalism is full of greed, for certain, but America really has rode the coatails of a small number of highly motivated, driven, and talented people that have done wonders for the high quality of life we've had here. Corruption is greed's evil brother, and that must be kept in check, but greed isn't an altogether bad thing. It has helped build hospitals, theaters, supplied millions of jobs to regular people. Communism removes motivation, though in theory, it has its merits.

What you're saying is true, though there are other motivations in a more 'socially advanced' society that could exist. As things exist now, they don't very much. Communism doesn't work because it goes contrary to human nature. Most 'communism' was really dictatorship/oligarchy. The concept of capitalism itself isnt bad, but when its just left out of check it results in extreme social stratification

When you get on a macro-economic scale government intervention is more acceptable, because of how corporations/monopolies will mistreat the lower class.
