  • this is so bad

  • What do this reviewer and a pair of pliers with a tip bent to a U have in common? They're both worthless tools.

  • jeez, what a poof.

  • who buys a bass at Best Buy??????

  • I swear to god people in famous bands today don't put the time or effort in their signature models today they just rip out the tone nob put in shitty pickups and paint it a weird color and sell it for $300. Also I did not use the word musician because u can't pay me enough to call this asshole one

  • @Ramones3775 thank you.. i dont know who uses a damn squier when your playing proffesionally.. you obviously are a true musician... i agree with everything you said 100%

  • O.o what the frig is a "punchy-pokey" sound?

  • "..Jersey loves Squier because it looks good.." Yeah, because that is totally the most important factor when picking out a bass. (obvious sarcasm)

  • Comment removed

  • "There's that punchy pokey sound" lol, Um yeah dude, Try a Stingray.

  • I think people are getting to caught up on the brand. I have a Fender P, and a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar. Both are great guitars, and lately I've been finding myself using my squier more and more. That being said, from what I've heard the vintage modified is the exception to the rule (haven't been able to find a bad review yet). Whatever gives you the sound you want, and you like playing is the bass you should use. Don't worry too much about what's stamped on the headstock.

  • so im assuming that this guy's playing career started off with an insane private stock bass, then he moved down to fender custom shop, the the standard fender, now he plays squier and by the end of his career will be playing children's basses

    Something doesn't seem right o.O

  • @gunsnflamethrowers BRILLIANT!! Well said,I have been laughing my ass off,BUT on a more serious note, look at this dude/dudette ? and it does'nt really matter what basses he/her uses,Its sound will be of Biblical proportions,he could play a washtube bass and sound like Jamerson,JPJones,Geddy and Wentz,he's the "new breed"of bassists, run or get out of his way he's here to chew bubble gum and kick bass ass,and he's fresh out of bubble-gum!

  • Why the hell that guy wants to look like a turd?

  • I don't get it. Is this a guy or a girl?

  • Eden amps are the best.

  • Hi you are a sick homo.

  • feels ?

  • All in this video is gay.

  • Only a noob would say he goes with Squire over Fender..

  • @funkybassman1991 Obviously he's a noob then, he has no skill after all. A 12 year old could think of that bass line he was playing.

  • @funkybassman1991 i on two fender strats one i have custom made and a light ash but i also have a squier vm jazzmaster and the quality of the squier is just as good as my fenders so just because somthing cost more doesnt mean its better suited for what you need i've been playing a while

  • FALL OUT BOY SUCKSSSS!!!!!1

  • No way would he use a Squier

  • @R4R45 why the squier basses are good ive been playing for 10 years and i like them more then jaguars

  • @666wheelbite Because he's in a professional band and he can afford much better basses.

  • ya thats totally why he uses a mesa 8x10 and a fender OR Music man bass live. he doesnt use squier. what a joke

  • Comment removed

  • That bass looks like it could crush him if it fell on him

  • Just like Mark Hoppus' Jazz Bass..

  • I like how these people try to make shit products sound like they are good. if you buy your musical shit at best buy you suck

  • "punchy pokey" seriously? The fact your voice sounds like a 10 year old girl also doesnt help his cause

  • He should get a Warwick instead.

  • @PlanetHell92 he doesnt deserve one. Dirk lance from incubus does

  • dear santa...

  • Who the hell upgrades (or downgrades) from Fender to Squier? O_O

  • @taufoofar The answer is: one that buys a 2010 american deluxe 5 string and when he gets it, the pickups are not quiet like they say, the G string does not stay in tune with relationship to the rest of the strings, and the over all sound whether active or passive was generic ; and when I purchased my Squier modified jazz bass V, using youtube as a guide, with the bass just being in passive mode with no active electronics it sounded like a jazz bass with a low b. A 300 bass vs 1600?
  • Ummm ... My 78' Precision weighs in at 17 lbs !!!!!! ok .... and i have never had a problem with the weight -- and i would never trade it for a squier !!! ever !!

Oo maybe instead of spending so much time on your look .. hit the gym a little bit and try to get some muscle buddy... : D yaay then you can play a REAL FENDER again !!!!

  • Never uses the tone knob, really shows off how good he is! Am not even good but I use the tone knob in the middle of songs! PUNK ROCKERS!!!

  • @alittleinbetween ...what you said made no sense, in any sense of the word sense.

  • @DJSparkyA It makes perfect sense. He said he never uses the tone knob- meaning that the tone stays the same, like punk rock bass players have it!

  • @alittleinbetween Uh, no, you said that deciding not to change the settings on his instrument shows how 'good' he is. If not wanting to use controls shows that he's a good bass player, explain why some of the greatest bassists play instruments with 4 band EQs, series/parallel switches, etc. on them?

  • @DJSparkyA Because they know how to use a bass properly! Look I dont know you you dont know me! you will never know me you will never see me there is no point in trying to look like the bigger man! I had an opinion- thats it i am not going to discuss it.

  • lol cassadee's playing in the background

  • you're gay

  • wow look at that sketchy fuck

  • I really don't know why does everyone bashes Squier. Like, they're not that bad. And the signature and vintage modified series really looks like a Fender.

  • FAGGOT

  • i got that bass and i got to say im impressed by it! love the color and bass itself! Sounds amazing on my lowdown Line 6 studio amp and on a practice amp! Might be a squier but its better then any other squier =] Currently using this bass for gigs =]

  • wow what a virtuoso....

  • what bass rif is he playing?

  • que baixista horroroso taqueparil

  • he lefft hey monday

  • I have a Squier, and I think I got one for the reason anyone gets one: Because at the time it's all I could afford. :/

  • @VincentBrooke1 That really is the only reason lol Fender owns Squier all the way.

Of course, my bass is a Squier Classic Vibe Jazz and it's actually pretty descent... I have a vid up on my channel if you wanna check it out. :)

  • well in all honesty.. squier basses are not bad... but the only reason i'd get one is when i cudnt afford a fender.. hehe

  • very cheap sound, not bright and no articulation. and that with the Rumble 60...

that guitar is lighter, cuz the wood is cheaper, the bridge is not massive and it fits in the hand like a toy

  • Guys, I'm not trying to defend the guy, but a lot of people play Squiers live. Biffy Clyro, Frank Bello, Pete Wentz (obviously), Deryck Whibley, and Mike Dirnt occasionally. And if you put in the right pickup (I heard this guy say in a video that he switched the pickups in his Squiers to Fender pickups) any guitar/bass can sound good. I don't own a Squier bass (I opted for a used Fender) but I've played a few at Guitar Center and they sounded awesome.

  • @greendaythebeatles YOU LIE!!!!!!

  • @BPW12794 fuck you, kid. I really do have a used fender, and frank bello has several vids where he praises his squier model.

  • @greendaythebeatles No need to get hostile because you know Squier is mediocre

  • no.....no.

  • Played this bass for about an hour through an ampeg svt amp. Couldn't find a single good thing to say about it. I've played less expensive basses that sound WAY better.

    Thanks :)

  • wow hes annoying :l

  • "Well you want something that looks pretty"..... I wouldn't care if it looked like dogshit as long as it sounded good. And I'm not trying to bash the guy because honestly, I really don't know who he is but this whole video was basically a big whoop to make people want Squiers. Or let me rephrase, make KIDS want Squiers. I love Squier basses (some) but common, why go from Fender to Squier. If this isn't just a big promotion for Squier, this guy's head isn't screwed on right...

  • @Fenderwolf95 It's like he said man, they're lighter, and it's easier to preform with them, and in Pete's case he enjoys slinging it around on stage over his head and all the preformance moves he does, so a lighter bass is better for him, and most of Fender's basses are thicker and heavier than Squire's.

  • Squier/Fender > Gibson

  • @TheSublimeRocker For bass, yes definitely. For guitar, it's disputable.

  • squier = fender

  • best bass

  • the bass is clearly not setted up yet. look at that action.

  • idk this bass is cool but mark hoppus bass is wayyyy better

  • same amp, awesome.

  • Why did he go to squier FROM fender? And not the other way around?

  • @TheMartini1234 he said it in the video. he needed a lighter bass. it was smart of him to get a lighter bass. hauling the heavy basses around on stage can cause some neck and back problems after a while.

  • @kid892002 Yeah, good point... Although you never really see anyone else using squiers instead of fenders because they are concerned about their back, do you?

  • @TheMartini1234 actually yeah i do. its happened to a few of my friends. its even happened to jason newsted formerly of metallica.

  • @kid892002 Oh really? Well, that makes me seem stupid. Well said :/

  • @TheMartini1234 i dont wish to make u seem stupid. i was just stating facts. its actually becoming a common thing to get lighter basses. i recently swapped to squire basses for the sake of my back. if your not happy with tone just add some seymour duncans to you bass and som.e ernie ball slinkys and see if that makes up for it being a squire

  • @kid892002 I wasn't upset with you. I was upset with myself for not thinking of that. And that sounds like a good idea.

  • @TheMartini1234 oh i see. and it really is a good idea.

  • @TheMartini1234 hes an idiot..

  • @TheMartini1234 Fender wouldn't have him.

  • @TheMartini1234 Because when on tour you do not want to jump around on stage with a heavy Fender.

  • @TheMartini1234 Why even start with squier? Start with used Fender MIM, new MIM, then american or higher end MIM

  • @TheMartini1234 because as you become a more integrated guitarist who values skill to brand, you do not value the guitar, but the way you play it.

  • @TheMartini1234 so that his fans could afford the same equipment he was using

  • @TheMartini1234 He uses Squiers because he gets the lightness of the squier (because some basses are pretty heavey) and then changes the pickups to fender ones so he overall has a light bass from Squier and the good sound from fender. Hope it helps you understand why :) haha

  • @Drewski691 Haha, ok. Weird though, they aren't really the same quality. If he wanted a good bass that was light, he should get a different bass.

  • @TheMartini1234 Yeah i know what you mean though if i was in a famous band i wouldn't use squier either :L

  • It has punchy pokey sound!

  • You are saying that he is noob because he never uses tone knobs. He never uses it to play at Hey Monday, not to play different styles.

  • This guy is not timekeeping. He's playing bass like a guitar.

  • @dharmaseed haha i just noticed that!!

  • even if its a P bass, it still needs a tone knob. must have. its like a mascot without a head

  • he is such a noob he neva uses tone knobs like wtf ???

  • @6ftBassist think about it for a second... saying he doesn't use a tone knob... on a commercial for it? I'm pretty sure they just made him say that to sell the bass : /

  • Comment removed

  • If I had a bass with a heart on it, I would have to kick my own ass....

No Looks, Hollow Tone = Fail

  • i could hav swore he was on helium

  • FAIL..!!

  • hehe just imagine if squier had an electric guitar version of petes bass

  • why? wentz doesnt play guitar.

  • @O9phillt yes he does

  • woops! sorry

  • I just got a Pete Wentz P-Bass Today and I prefer it over some of the Fender P-Basses that I tried out!

  • That doesnt mean its good, it means you like crappy basses

  • Have you got one? Have you played one?? Well then!

  • I've played it, i will never judge a bass that i have never played

  • Trust me, its beast! =)

I prefer it over Fender Jazz Basses just because of the tone and the looks it has.

  • looks are not related to how good a bass is and the tone always sounds like you are playing pop punk

it also feels like it was made out of cheap wood

  • Well for the style i play, punk is a good sounds for me.

It doesnt feel as if its made out of cheap wood and i know that for a fact as i own one!!

  • ive played one at guitar center and it feels cheap compared to a real Fender

  • well there must of been something up with the one you played. Mine feels exactly like a fender.

  • alright

  • Jersey's not amazing on Bass but he is actually a better Bass Player than pete...

  • squier jazz bass is better

  • @ BPW Lmfao! you're fuckin hilarious dude.

So very true, I'm glad to see someone with some sense!

  • I just had to tell the world the truth

  • Horrible.

  • It sure is!

  • failed musicians use squier. no beginning musicians use squier. to buy a squier cause u wanted to compare and have one is one thing, but to say ur in a band that more than 10 people know and u use squier is just poor.

  • Pete Wentz uses Squier over Fender so that most of his fans are able to afford the guitar.

    Squier's are still nice basses.

  • @Gibson2471 It's not the sound of the bass, it's the player, if you think Squiers suck, it could be because your not that good so you can make any bass sound like shit.

My uncle, who's been playing for 60 years, uses Squiers, and with the right player behind it, it sounds better then Fender, way better.

And if Squiers do sound like shit, which they don't, it's a little simple thing called "Switching the Pick ups" Maybe you should try that.

  • @NegativeCreepPro

I agree, I've played Squiers and Alembics (Boutique basses & guitars), and for I'd say around 300 bucks, the Squier pretty much owned the Alembic bass which costed about 6000 bucks.

  • fail.

  • Wow, if you can't handle a tone knob, that's freakin' sad. The same time all the time is SO unversatile. Can only play noob-pop trash with it, stuck to the root note-following the rhythm guitar note for note.

  • considering its a p bass, you wont need a tone knob for it....it sounds good enough without it

  • @xSLICKSLIDEx -_____- go practice

  • @xSLICKSLIDEx not only that it has a jazz neck aswell ^^

  • @xSLICKSLIDEx Maybe to some, but I prefer rolling the tone up or down for different songs, instead of having to change my amp setting all the time.
