@wildperson, @renascent88 -- yeah, good points, and Rapture was getting kind of old, but I don't know -- I don't know if I can imagine a BioShock without the Big Daddy / Little Sister bond. It's the emotional heart of the game series, and I don't know what they can do to make up for not having that.

@daughteroftiaran I agree. I mean, look at the relationship of Jean Valjean and Cosette in Les Miserables. The bond between even an adoptive father and child is such a strong story in itself. That's maybe what's so chilling about Rapture..it's everything that is good, turned horribly, horribly, wrong..yet, the bond remains. It's like being involved in a captivating train wreck. It's awful, it churns your stomach, yet your eyes stay glued to it until its end. Your glad abt it.

I think Infinite will be a good game but I hope it's linked to Rapture somehow. Because for me the story wasn't what made it great, it was the little sisters and Big Daddys. I think they are characters that just work so well and they couldn't get any better. So if they're gone that will be a letdown :(

@skeleton259 Little Sisters were implanted with a Sea Slug that produces a weird thing called ADAM, it give people the ability to use plasmids, such as the Electro Bolt and Incinerate! abilities. That's not it though, ADAM is described as very addictive. So, when the splicers (enemies) get a plasmid or a gene tonic, they get addicted to ADAM and then strive for more, so then they go and hunt the Little SIsters. tl;dr, Little Sisters are the main source of ADAM, which everybody seems to need.

But the gameplay, the new combination of plasmids and tonics and the new mechanics simply componsate for that; I srly think that bioshock 2 was more of an improvement than 1. I think the rumbler was a big fail for a big daddy design. It does make good damage and is a tad bit more agile but whenever i see one with a little sister i get out my telekinesis and say "Easy ADAM"

@pronijm did you see the the trailer? they had things that were like big daddies, one smashed a big dad figurine and it had a heart where the face was, it may not be the same thing as in the 1950s-60s versions of big daddies, they may not even be called big daddies, but they did look like them, so..maybe..idk this is just speculation, so I could be wrong, we all could x)

i've got to say, bioshock 2 has to be one of the best FPS's ever, even better than the original in a lot of ways. compared to the norm shooters out there AKA Call of duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Killzone, halo, and so on. the story is fantastic, gameplay very good, the setting is absouletly brilliant, the atmosphere is also fantastic, and although it is quite depressing, rather creepy and even sad in parts, it is defintely a breath of fresh air in a packed, but sometimes rather dull market
