  • Theese guys are brilliant!

  • what a wonderful song. Amazing to listen to it on and on.

  • uffffff, estaba yo en la primaria Luis. Gracias x compartir

  • This song is fantastic. And this version is so tingling. You can see the cowboys, feel them, horses, all that western stuff. Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • !SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPER!

  • wymyślcie swoje słowa do tej piosenki ... świetna zabawa ;)

  • Klasyka!

  • Great song. Melody tune keep changed but still back to original key.

  • I was listening this Riders in the Sky on radio when I was a child...

  • Oh,If I am born in this epoc...<3

  • I love the riff between 4:42-4:45. It's moments like this that make Hank exceptional.

  • @fidomusic

    You meant 2:45-2:55 - i agree :)

    a wonderful pice

  • @SARITV304 Right. It's a lovely lick, and makes the Shad's version stand out.

  • Fuckin fantastic stuff.

  • I am in heaven, just listening to this angel food, yeah

  • Just now recently I found back the whole world of the Shadows!!

    I love it!!!

  • lool I look like star!I have big eyes with love inside

  • why all these *** people need to clap into the rhythm???

  • the lyrics are.... As i road through the desert, an outlaw i did see, trousers round his ankles, his wrists tied to a tree, he said i've just been ravaged by four bandits that were gay, as i unzipped my fly, i said it's not your lucky day. yipee i oooooh. yipee i yaaaay........
  • suitable for funeral!

  • I suppose because the Shadows were from the other side of the pond, the only song I recall is Apache. They were awesome and I have a lot of catching up to do.

  • these are musical gods!

  • The name of this Tune, is.... "Ghost Riders In The Sky".

  • @sepod It's actually simply "Riders In the Sky" originally written by Stan Jones in 1948 Vaughn Moore probably had one of the most famous versions but there were many.

  • @Hambonedobro Sorry ... meant to say MONROE ... VAUGHN MONROE !

  • Blues Brothers !!!

  • @cagiva125cc I think the sound track used in Ghost Rider was Johnny Cash (i don't know for sure)

  • @JooohnSiiilva I think it's the Outlaws. Not sure, but it sounds like it.

  • this track is the dogs!!! and the fact its used in ghost rider is brill!!!

  • wonderful

  • Now I've got to go play Red Dead Redemption...

  • @eloy1352 :O Eric Clapton has become a timelord!!

  • - Hey - well spotted!

  • @eloy1352 great catch mate

  • @RIXLAZZZ Cheers man..

  • @eloy1352 'Makes me wonder too. Recorded pre- or post-Clapton's Layla?

  • @whiskeyjack59 it must be pre, the rock version of Layla, not the acoustic version.

  • @eloy1352 Except for a couple notes, I'd say Clapton certainly copied it.

  • @whiskeyjack59 Perhaps they borrowed from Clapton? This looks early 80's and the bass line is disco which means post 1978. layla was 1970. Both are great.

  • @edge9090 The release timeline sure seems to imply a few measures borrowed from Clapton. Tastefully borrowed though, eh? :-)

  • @whiskeyjack59 I'm sure there's mutual respect on both sides. I love Hank Marvin's tone and phrasing. Very grateful recording technology was good back then so we can enjoy this stuff. I always have time for Cream as well, Clapton sounds so good.

  • @eloy1352 This version of the song was released in 1980. Layla was released 10 years earlier.

  • @mostlycloudy14 You arrogant little twerp. There is nothing more pathetic than telling people how great you think you are. No one gives a shit. I listened to your version, apples to oranges. You try to make the song sound like elevator music, good for you.

  • @93MickyD1, ABSOLUTELY great song - but THIS rendition of it, with its disco Bee Gees-like embellishments make this great song sound quite cheesy. Just my opinion, but I've been playing rock/rock'nroll guitar for 35 years. Yet MOST rock musicians and fans OF THE ERA hated disco music with a purple passion - and STILL do. Disco music was basically designed for DANCING. Its frequently annoyingly repetitive rhythms and backbeats - so often the same - when applied to classic songs, simply ruin them!

  • @philipatoz I don't know about the others, but I love rock music and disco combos with rock riffs are awesome. And I don't even like dancing music much. You can make some pretty funky riffs/beats, which can even connect rock, disco and funk. Blondie, for example, they have Heart of Glass which is great. And The Shadows are their own class, absolutely brilliant.

  • twiiiinng twing twiiiiiiiiiuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnggg!! LOL

  • My parents love this song... and I can see why. It's awesome!

  • the choreography might be "interesting " ut they make it look cool.

  • shadows own the beatles.

  • @DeadIslandTrailers oh, no, they do not!

  • the choreography is simply magnificent

  • This is a great version but also funny as hell with the 70's porno bass line! They should have used this in Broke Back Mountain as it sounds like it's for gay cowboys. If you want the strait cowboy version just check out what Duane Eddy did for it. It's the real deal.

  • 0:24 the guy looks like nicholas cage

  • Unfortunately, here, the Shads were trying to do their thing in a horrible musical era: Attempting to marry surf rock to Bee Gee disco beats, even with its Claptonish overtones, is not for the faint of heart! Disco was the cRAP music of its day - 99.9% horrible (sorry, there might be a .01% I haven't heard/can't fairly denounce). This is embarrassing for the once great Shadows, guess they thought they had to adapt to popular tastes if they wanted to keep getting bookings.

  • Everlasting classic.

  • Sounds like.... eating dust.

  • oh que c'est bon d'entendre encore cette musique !!! ça fait du bien ! c'est toujours aussi bon !!! Merci !!

  • @leavingyoubehindevil So you are saying that God rides The Devil's herd?

  • Precious few instrumentals hit this level of excitement with the listening folks. I think the Shadows have successfully crossed the barrier of age groups. My kids love it. My Sisters's grandkids love it. What's the answer? Good music over the generations! Yeah. Go Shadows.

  • Another good version is Blues Brothers 2000 movie the effects they have in that movie is great.

  • son fabulosos y unicos

  • To "Disco" out this song.... and pull it off as SMOOTHLY as the Shadows did... Is nothing less than pure GENIOUS.These Cat's were incredible. Thanks for posting!

  • @BlueMoonGuitar Well said, lord save us from the music police.

  • The disco version.

  • SHADOWS, VENTURES Y BELKINGS, NO MORE

  • The shadows done the best cover of this song hands down!!

  • i thinks the name is Ghost riders in the sky.

  • en version disco pas terrible...c'est mieux l'original

  • That base guitar is just incredible. I'm glad I spent my late teens in the U.K. during that musical revolution.

  • Simple, but it draws you in and keeps you.

  • Please check out my uncle's guitar instrumentals: John Kelman. He was lead guitarist with Freddy Starr and the Midnighters, The Four Just Men, and Wimple Winch. He's a musical genius, and should have been a superstar with his playing.

  • miss you! (the rolling stones:)

  • I love the Children Of Bodom cover.

  • @OXCerberusX0 - Well, it's got a bit more oomph than this one, hasn't it : )

Wasn't it a bonus track on the special edition of blooddrunk?

  • @Fan666Maiden yeah something like that, they did a billy idol cover aswell.

  • @OXCerberusX0 - I'm not really such a fan of COB anymore, but I still find their covers kind of entertaining... Haven't heard the Billy Idol one yet though.

  • How many key changes?

  • Hermanos Vasquez.

  • This is ok, but give me Duane Eddy's version any day!

  • Zeer goede muziek, alleen zeer slechte playback, ziet er niet uit

  • Fantistic oldie

  • only the music, and even this is enough

  • Love the arrangement. Sounds a bit like Clapton's Layla at the beginning and the end - very cheeky of the Shads to do that :)!

  • Impossible to dislike.

  • 75 kill joys

  • MY MUM PLAYS THIS ALL THE TIME LOVE IT

  • R.I.P. Jet Harris. Thanks for the music.

  • I really like this band. You dont have to necessarly sing to make great music.

  • @PurpleHazeHippie A bit of relief from skiffle.

  • from the campest western YOUVE EVEERR SEEEEN

  • The legendary dance! Urgh, now it looks so weird =D

  • sounds like it should be in a Western film

  • @Creamy360 it's about a cowboy of course it is.

  • Fantastic! I am 43-year old, of course! ;-)

  • @b0ozee Hey, I know a couple of teenagers (including me) who love this song.

We aren't all Justin Bieber/Lady Gaga fanatics. They suck!

  • @rockfan666X

    CRAP ASWELL

  • VOX AC30?

  • @1971SuperLead used one to record guitar at a studio i work at this weekend. man does that amp sound amazing

  • @elef003 Apparently cathode biasing is where it's at. This type of circuit seems to give an amplifier a more responsive and dynamic performance.

Do you know what year the one you played was made?

  • Wow I have always wanted to check these guys out. The reason is because I am a big black sabbath fan, and I know that this is tony Iommi's favorate band.

  • music is great but they are so funny

  • 70 people aren't riders in the sky

  • @EvilNoize lol!...

  • 70 People pressed the wrong button as of Feb 4th 2011. Noooooobs

  • Jeden z moich ulubionych..

  • I don't like this disco rythm. Country versions are much much better!

  • this is great. never thought i'd hear a disco version of this, though. LOL

  • Music made for heaven.

  • One of the greatest insrtrumental bands ever!

  • "Riders in the Sky" version disco est pas si mal que ça finalement...

  • Damn sure worth 2 the million hits too.....

  • 66 people went to hell, and never rode into heaven. XD

  • kinda weird guitar movement

  • Bill Gates is a Hank clone...

  • Fan depuis toujours fan toujours.

Je les ai pâlement imité sur scène ( bassiste avec une starbas de Framus ) Jet Harris était inimitable.

  • Disco

  • Country and Western to a funky disco beat-The soundtrack to Broke back Mountain surely???????

If it wasn't,then someone wasn't doing their job properly!

Seriously though, absolutely awesome, only bettered by Wonderful land.

  • Not too crazy about the disco rhythm but Hank is still true to his surf guitar roots in this and man can he make a strat sing!

  • Disco don´t sound so nice. I better like rock and blues

  • @jimincairns @JLWing77 Who cares if it's disco or not, just listen and enjoy.

  • They can continue playing like this forever and people would just be too happy to listen.

  • what natural ease! Effortless class

  • The perspective is different crouched here under the bridge.

  • SHADOWS ARE THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!

    1000 *

  • What, A million+ folks? Check out the Detroit Daggers! They smoke this.

  • @MotorCityMusicFactor

    LOOOOL

those detroit daggers are so lame compared to The Shadows and their awesome skills.

  • Hmm...Daggers, "It ain't no disco, it ain't no foolin around". Just legendary Detroit players from Legendary Detroit Bands!!

  • @MotorCityMusicFactor

    legendary detroit bands ????

    What's your age troll?

Have a search for Apache on youtube or The Shadows live concerts. Now these are legendary and not some unknown bands that you alone happen to know.

  • The simplest melodies always reach deepest into us and last the longest time there.

  • The simplest melodies always reach deepest into us and last the longest time there.

  • It is simply elevating music indeed!

  • They are great, time is not a problem for their music

  • @MegaEskel Time is a major problem for their ridiculous synchronized guitar swaggering though and electrio back-beat. Blergh!

  • The cheesy choreography gives me the vapours.

  • no cabe duda buen tema version disco delos shadows

  • a pretty darn catchy version lmao

  • les shadows sont et resterons une perfection innégalée dans l"histoire de la musique instrumentals ...

  • Ghost Riders with a disco beat. lol.....

  • i learnt to play the guitar with their songs!!! :D

  • Good enough to inspire Mark Knopfler. Nuff said :)

  • What special hell must be saved up for the Shadows for this abomination!

Disco beats with "Rides in the Sky"!?!?!?!

Death and torture is too good for them!

  • @JLWing77 Bet you're a yank

  • @fincaman2 what does that have to do with anything!?!?!?

  • @JLWing77 'Disco'? You dork. Listen to 'The Ramrods' version from around 1960. Not too much difference except Hank is a far better lead guitarist!

  • @jimincairns I'm sorry if you can not hear the obvious Disco influence of this version.

  • @JLWing77 I defy you to point out any 'disco' musical reference in this version!

  • You just can't teach talent like this, there's only ever the original and best.

  • I don´t like it

  • When I was 12 years old, my dad kept bugging me about this [Shit] as I thought at the time. I listened, didn't get it. Now, 10 years later, when I've finally learnt to give everything a chance - I cannot believe that this masterpiece slipped by me - Knowing how much I truly love music. Hank, you're amazing.

  • @aztaclalz

Hah, likewise mate, my dad even took me to see them, thought they were good, but only recently realised just how good they were, shoulda been a sixties kid!
