One of my students were late and I remember his mom saying "Sorry were late we're a little upset a plane just crashed in to one of the twin towers" I was thinking to myself oh another little biplane clipped the building. Then one of the teachers I worked with told me to turn on the TV and I saw the second plane hit the tower. That day will be burned into memory forever
It was my senior year of high school and I was in my cisco computer class when they announced it over the intercom... everybody pulled up the web and the teacher pulled out the TV. It was surreal. i was in my grade 9 class and i thought it was a tv movie about newyork you know they always make newyork the centre of disaster in movies so i was like wow it looks real then one teacher ran in and goes this is world war three!!! and my heart started pounding and my friends were freaking out upstairs cause their dad was in manhattan that day and was to visit the tower!

I was at home in JP and I remember that teriible thing happened when I was talking on the phone. It was like around 10pm here. The first time I saw that , I thought it was some like movie trailer...
Visiting New York. I was on top of the roof of my buddy's apartment building about a block from the towers. I snapped about thirty pictures as it happened then I was covered in dust and I was "escorted" off the roof.
My miserable vacation lasted a week too long & I was almost fired until I told them where I was at. I still have the pictures but I have never posted them.
iwas at home in india 2001 sep 11 i was just studying for exams and suddenly my aunt shouted oh my god i came running down from my room to tv room i saw the wtc was hit my plane by terrorist so i was shocked and i prayed that why is this happening to the world thats only thing i could think
I was buying supplies for an art project I had to do. The cashier asked me if I heard that a plane flew into one of the towers. I said, no. I just assumed that it was a small engine plane that accidentally flew into one of the towers. I didn't even turn on the TV until like 2 hours later, though. It was freaky.
i was going to school. My friend( who just moved here) went throught it. He had a friend who didn't make it out. He said that he will never forget it. He always regrets this day.
I was in school. Second grade... later when I was at home watching the news, my dad told me more people than I could ever imagine had died. It scared me. The next day in school we had a moment of silence.
we watched them burn,i remmber a few students even left eraly becuse there parents came and picked them up i live in Rhode Island Not that far from NYC plus one of the planes left from boston, we seen the pentagon hit, and the pennsylvania crash finaly he turned off the tv sat down, not a word was spoken, he looked at us and said "you will never froget where you were this day, what you seen will change the way you all live for the rest of your life" i get goosebumps when i think of that
i was in 6th grade, i was 12 years old i rember taking books out of my desk when my teacher came into the room looking nervous or anxious and he walked over towards a TV and sed "a plan just hit the WTC" non of us knew what the WTC was until he turned on the TV And we were all like wow ive seen those in movies and stuff, after about a half hour he turned it off...left the room when a teacher called him out, came back and said "do you guys mind if i turn the TV back on another plane just hit"
My da woke me up,and stated that a plane hit one of the towers,i turned on my set to CNN,then i saw plane #2 hit & i knew it was an attack ..i watched for the next 13 hours,i was off work that day..!!!! i still have the newspapers from the nexy day ,that i have saved...!!!!
I was in Detroit Sep,11,2001,and I was in my moms room and we where watching CNN there was the planes crasing in the world trade center and my whole fucking family got freaked out and scared.2-3 years later we left detroit because of that tragic dester.I was fucking scared man,I was going in kidergarden I was maybe 5,yea 5.I was really scared when I was watching later in the basement when bush made his speech about going into war.Till this very day
I was in one of my classes when I heard someone mention that one of the towers fell. After class ended, I drove home and I think the second tower fell by that time. I remember the cable news stations started puting news tickers on the screen. I also remember my college canceling all evening class for that day.
I was in a classroom like most teens with no idea the United States was about to kill 3000 of it's own people. People ask "Why would they do that?" Well, we all see the motive now. Trillions from the war. Scary.
I was at my house in California when i was 3 years old. Now I'm in 7th grade and my Language arts teacher and my class were watching the 9/11 movie and it was really sad. I was crying the whole time and there were these little 3,4,5,6,7, year old kids asking why they would blow up the twin towers and the pentagon. and there was this little boy saying I want my daddy back(his dad died in one of the planes) it was really sad.....
i actually lived in Long Island NY when it happened. I was in 2nd grade. we all started crying. it was hard. my friends dad helped clean up & it was really sad! i cried and i still do. everybody left school that day. i stayed cause they said that was the safest place to be. I moved to Virginia but i still pray for all those people! i miss you all so much! 9.11.01. 7years ago. i miss the twin towers so bad! i remember that day and ill never forget it! thats where is was on september 11 2001. :[[
i was back from a business trip from Dallas, left USA to fly back home on Sept 10 , 2001
and at 9:30 am had a connect flight departure from Pittsburgh. When i open my lap top on Sept 11, i saw the first plane destroy the first tower, i thank God for saving my life.
We were sitting in Germany when a friend called me i should switch on the tv and watch the news. R.I.P. to all the people that died there - i still believe that Osama has nothing to do with those attacks. Every reaction from the american government was way over the top. since 9/11 or let's say because of 9/11 there died so many innocent people because of the following wars (iraq/afghanistan) that i don't really know if we are nothing but exactly the same cowards - war is always develish
How where you just able to pick up and go to Japan. Did you have friends or work there. I travel alot, right now am in Bosnia. So i like to hear about your adventures.
I was in my apartment in Fort Green, Brooklyn. A friend of mine called to wake me up when the first tower got hit, so i cut on the TV and things didn't seem real to me. I mean the news made it seem like a fire or something, so i went back to sleep. Then he called again around 10am, yelling wake up! the towers are going down. So i wake up, cut on the news again and opened my living room window and saw smoke coming from Manhattan and then it all hit me!I was in shock to say the least.
I was in first grade, the middle of the school day, and my teacher took us all to the library to watch it on the news. One of my friends was almost on the flight that hit the pentagon... But he left early cause his parents got in a fight. And my other friend's dad left less than a minute before the first tower was hit.
I was getting ready for work, I didn't really believe it was real until I got to work and saw all the t.v.'s on and I started crying and was kinda scared for our country but kept my faith in the Lord. I still can't really watch it and feel so sorry for those families, people from all walks of life and countries were in that building.
I was 14, in freshmen year. I was in school. During 4th period, or so. But I do remember I was in History class. And we were talking about the Russian Revolution. Right out of the blue, our principal called all of the classes to line up in the auditorium, this instant. I was in 9th grade, so I was in the very last line in the gym. And a screen was on, and we sat down and watched it. When I actually listened, and heard it, my mouth just dropped. I was in such shock. And I still remember it.
I remember like it was yestarday...I was a Junior in High School...An I was in the Nurses office...Then all of a sudden she started crying...an I asked her what was wrong...she said the World Trade got hit...An her daughter worked in the building...an she want answer her phone...Later I found out her daughter was one of the victims...I felt so bad 4 her an those people...How could people just vote Bush back there again...He killed alot of people also in the WAR
I was in my bed sleeping .. my BF dragged me out of bed to watch it on tv.. I was really groggy and confused as to why I was being forced to watch some B movie with bad effects.. was informed it was real. Thought, really? Are you sure... doesn't look real?
I was here in Atlanta and I had just dropped my lil brothers off at school turned on the tv and while they were talking about the first one I knew then it was no accident so when the second one hit that just confirmed it.
I was a senior in High School. It was the first day of classes too. In the lunch room my principal announced over the PA that two planes just crashed into the world trade center. I was 16 at the time.
I was at work training someone. I was on the phone with a client (a retiree in Connecticut) People called me with reports intermittingly. I asked the client on the line to fill me in and he did as I was not near a TV. I got home to finally watch reports at about 5:15 est
Jacksonvill,Fl, Home don't remember how I learned of the first tower but got involved with the developing TV story and Nancy got a call from our youngest daughter who delivered our only grandchild 15 days later asking what kind of world was this for Julia? HarOLD
I was in PE in middle school,7th Grade, and at first I didnt know anything about it, they announced it over the school, but of course the gym didnt have tv's soo we finsih to play, all i knew at the time was that somthing about maybe schools should be closed.but still havent seen the videos... so when i went to my next class, Science. i then was shocked at what i saw... two planes into a building... i was like omg what is going on! CRAZY feeling...it was on a monday, i remember it like yesterday
I was at work working my 3rd shift security job. I had been working it for about 11 months and I was very shocked. I thought it was a movie at first but then I looked more closely and wow the towers fell. I was totally shocked we had just been attacked but by whom.
I was in class in high school and the teacher turned it on an all i was thinkin was im goin home we might be next all the waay in michigan...sad i know
Ive been asked this ?? 100 times today by ppl I didnt know at that time, thinking about how these ppl arrived to my life, and how they were living similar things and I didnt know I would ever meet them is something so weird to think about. It makes me think bout whats the ppl that Ill meet later on doing right now.
1st grade, junior high, back from school, saw it on TV, I didnt care much, I was inmature and not as sensitive. Time showed me the seriousness of it. All those ppl: Rest In Peace...
I was in my algebra class in high school, the principal announced it over the intercom for all the teachers to turn on their classroom televisions. I didn't get a full understanding of what was going on until after I got home to watch the news.
and i remember goin home n my father said that my grandfathers flight goin back too0o flordia had turned around n went back to0o newark airport..... my grandfather said it was crazy at the airport but he got threw everythang cuz he is a retired police officer...it was a mission to0o get a taxi home but he made it to0o my house safely
when the towers blew it was my my freshmen yr of high sch.. i was actually in sch when it happened n when the news came out everyone was goin nuts in sch .... some students had parents workin there some of the staff had family memebers workin there .. so0o it was a big riot in my high sch.... that day we left sch early
I was stationed aboard the USS Roosevelt CVN-71 and we were preparing for our 6 month deployment over that way on the 19th. I just found out that day that I was pregnant with my daughter and would not be able to do the cruise with my command. I went upstairs to the deck where my workcenter was to let my supervisor know of my results from medical and everyone was watching the towers on fire and I asked them what movie there were watching. The room was silent. I wished I could've went for payback!
It happened at about 11.30pm our time - I was asleep and didn't find out until 6am (the next day) when the alarm/radio came on. Raced downstairs - turned the TV on and was hoping it was a nightmare I was having. Every channel had it on and then I knew it was something serious! I couldn't believe me eyes - it's was such a tragedy! =o[
I was in 7th grade when it happened. I was in PE, so I didn't find out about it until I went to Social Studies and our teacher told us. I don't really remember much after that. I was shocked. It felt like I was dreaming. I remember that I didn't cry at first. They sent us home from school and every single channel on the TV was talking about it. I just turned off the TV and laid down in bed and cried.
We were stationed in Okinaw going through one of the biggest typhoons we'd seen since living there. I woke up and the sky (because of the storm) was golden in color. There was no sunshine at all... somehow I knew something was wrong...
I went into the livingroom around 6am and saw on one of our local networks a ticker that said "America is under attack...please turn to your cable news station..." I turned the television to CNN and there is was...the second plane was going into the North ...
...Tower. I cried out to my husband to watch the television and listened as the commentators talked about the possibility that the terrorists could be thinking about attacking major cities in the U.S.... just then, I tried getting an outside line to the states to my hometown, CHicago to call my mom and sister who worked across the street from the Sears Tower... IT WAS HORRIBLE. I cried for US for 2 weeks.
I was in the bed because that was when i was working overnight i had just got off work earlier that morning so my sister called me and said turn on the tv cause a plane had just crashed into the world trade center and i couldn't believe my eyes it was like watching a movie.
I was in study hall cracking jokes back and forth with my friend and it was announced that the twin towers had been crashed into and to turn the tvs on and we all sat in shock some of us in tears...it was horrible it was SO hard for us to believe it was real. After the 2nd plane hit we were all freaking out and a plane crashed in PA where I live and we were even more shook up. To this day I still get tears in my eyes when I see footage of this tragedy and I know ppl who lost family that day. :-(
I was in a class (English, I think) in 7th grade, living a totally new town, in a new state, and I'd lived there for less than a month. It was a very surreal time for me.
I was putting on my sneakers getting ready to go to work while I was talking to my sister and her "homebound" instructor. I'll never forget it because we we're all looking at Good Morning America with this "WTF" expression on our faces.
So we are both sitting there waiting on the train. So I'm like a man what's going on. He gone tell me 2 combat planes shot at the world trade centers and that the world trade centers are rubble. And he said they are looking for more combat planes that are still flying around and they think they are going to attack the Sears Tower next. So we are sitting there looking at the Sears Tower and I was ready to get into the fetal position. I was glad to see the train that day. So I saw at 1 at home.
I think i was in school but i moved from queens along time ago and MIGHT be before this tragity, and when i saw te news, me and my mom was shocked, and i think my dad was shocked too, and i believe the devil(satan) did this, because i saw his face on the smoke and i saw other demon faces or his faces on the smoke
I knew nothing until about 12 o'clock. I was in class from 8-9:15. After that I decided to go into the seclusion of the back corner of a windowless library in the middle of a campus building. Around 12 I left to go to the computer lab. At the lab they told me that all classes had already been canceled earlier. I asked why. I was thinking (What the F is a world trade center?) I was like downtown? Dude said no it's in NY. So I headed for the train. This one guy scared me.
I was in Athens, just leaving a class on plate tectonics. I had already completed all my coursework and written most of my dissertation.
I lived less than a mile from school, and I got back to my apartment between the times that the planes hit the two towers. I streamed it on the internet, probably the first time that I ever did that.
I was at school when the towers hit. I think I was in the 8th grade. My school didn't let us out early but people were running around the school telling talking about it. Back then I had no clue what the twin towers were but when i saw I immediately felt pain for all the people who died that day.

I remember exactly walking into like my 4th period Science class and I look at the television asking my teach what was going all.
He told me a plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Soon enough, they showed the South Tower & the Pentagon then that's when the teacher gave news that America was under attack.
I never can forget anything that happened that morning.
