  • I'm Chicano and I'm teaching myself Nahuatl, I'm only thirteen and learning it ain't that hard. It is when there's no other speaker around in Utah.

  • @1Mexicanb,That's cool. Make a video on teaching us how to speak it.

  • AMAH HEMA GELU JESA AZTECO POMOTAS COMUNIS!!! (my country!)

  • I REALLY WANT TO LEARN THIS LANGUAGE!!

I COME FROM A MEXICAN FAMILIA

BORN AS A CHICANO MEX AMERICAN

SE ESPANOL BUT LATELY IVE BEEN LEARNING ABOUT MY ANCESTORS

AND NAHUATL IDIOMA IS WHAT I WANT TO LEARN!!

ANY HELP TO LEARN WHERE DO I START?????

  • @818miguelito Go to Mexico and live amongst Nawatl speakers. Just a heads up on Nawatl, there is no official way to spell the modern Nahuatl/Nawatl/Naoatl/Nauatl dialects. Most Mexica, myself included, prefer to spell Nawatl in a way that makes it look less like Spanish since that is the language of our oppressors. For example a word like cihuatl (woman) becomes siwatl, nehuatl notoca (my name is) becomes newatl notoka. Anyway good lick learning the Mexican language.

  • @BaronSamediVoodooLoa oh ok thank you very much!!!

Quick question my mother is from zacatecas and my dad is from guadalajara..

Is there any nawatl speakers in that part of mexico?!!?

and the example u gave me like newatl notoka

how do i pronounce the tl ???? is the tl in newatl silent?

  • @818miguelito I don't think there are Nawatl speakers there. The only Native American tribe I know of that lives there is the Huichol. The Huichol speak a different language called Wixárika Niukiyari.

Anyway, about the pronunciation of tl at the end of the words; It depends on the dialect. I was told to only pronounce the t and that the l should remain silent.

  • @BaronSamediVoodooLoa oh ok but that native american tribe lives where? guadalajara or zacatecas?

&& thank you the l should remain silent gotcha..

1 more question what part of mexico do Nawatl speakers live?

  • @818miguelito hm well columbia university has mexican studies

  • @818miguelito me too bro! i hear some colleges will start teaching nahuatl to chicano students

  • @SupremeARA915 good for you good luck!! :)

  • our work for red/pink is lachii :p and we say inlakech for "other hand"

  • LOL his name is Jesus

  • How do you learn Nahuatl music? Was it saved it codices?

    Cómo aprendes canciónes Nahuatl?

  • @MegaAstrodude it was saved through tradition

  • i want to learn how to speak el dialecto d oaxaca por que mi novio no sabe mucho espanol o ingles...

  • Mexico needs to encourage Nahuatl and the Mayan Yucatec languages in every public school.

We can't forget who we are or where we come from

  • you can hear the relation to other Native Language groups

  • im from peruvian and i speak spanish and english i wanna know quechua my true language

  • es suma mente importante que podemos difundir

  • Este si que es mi lenguage ..

  • mis respetos

  • Sucks that neither my parents or any of my grandparents know how to speak this, only spanish. Then again, i would have a hard time speaking it, nonetheless it would be nice to speak it.

  • This is the best way to learn: by playing. The children enjoy to speak nahuatl and for the rest of their life they will associate their language with good fun. Greetings to Native Americans from Native European!

  • it's so great that there are still alive the native Americans... the real Americans!

  • MILAUHAC CUALY TLAHJTOHUA IN COCONEHME IN TO TLAHTOL

BUENO QUE BIEN HABLAN LOS NINOS NUESTRO DIALECTO

NUESTRA LENGUA MADRE. FELICITACIONES Y ADLANTE

  • this is so sweet! :)

  • @camau79 , yea same here. I'm from like half european decent and half indigenous from mexico and I wanna learn to speak nahuatl so bad xD

  • im Chilean and i really want to learn to speak Mapuche the original language of Chile before the Spanish invasion

  • yea all my life my parents hav talkd to me in eithr english or spanish n until i was 13 they told me they knew aztec n wantd to teach me this but now its too hard for me

  • @MOZARTONER its nahwatt

    not aztec.

  • @ADRIANR2D thats wat it translate to overall

  • I WISH MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THIS!

  • You are right about the bad peole and what they are doing along the border in Mexico and the USA.. but I ask you .. look at the faces and the culture of those doing all those crimes.. how many of them are NATIVE MEXICANS? Who controls the money and power in Mexico ? How many of them speak Nahuatl or Mayan as their first language.. make s me proud that the answer to my question is probably zero.

  • Absolutely correct my friend!! But that revolves right back to my point that no matter where you are from your own people that live in the country will sell you out now a days. I love and respect the true "Mexicans" not the inter breed people of today that mixed in. The majority dont feel the way we do about culture and pride, they are blinded with greed! I wish you and I could try to fix thing but we are stuck with the way it is. Maintain your pride and culture and never forget it, much respect

  • DOnt worry it wil change .. 99% of the mexicans here in New York city are real Native Mexicans and they are getting educated here and they wil prosper and grow, they are hard working and they run every one's business behind the scenes and behind the scenes they are gaining the skills to run their own businesses. They usually have 3 kids.. 2 to replace and 1 for the race! they are the bright future where the leaders will reflect the people. We have to support and grow them! They are beautiful!

  • its sad how almost all mexicans forgot about our ancient nahuatl language. also many mexicans think spanish is our real language wich really bothers me.

  • Someday soon we will see the return of our language and identity!

  • @drki11joy123

I hope so too! We must never forget!

  • And what realy buggs me about the racist immigration debate is that these Mexicans BELONG HERE. Their ancestors didnt fall off of a rat infested boat as grimy refuse frim another continent. They walked freely back and forth on this continent where they are from and belong .. so MEXICAN Natives IN... GRINGOS OUT of N America

  • You sound angry

  • When faced with people that attack Native people ... I am a bit .Read 1491 to understand why

  • Nothing is going to change things which is sad! My country is the same (Greece). Money and Power rule us all. What you must do is maintain your culture and customs so they don't just fade away. We live in a different world today and we are our own enemy. Our own people will sell us out for Money and Power, its way too late to change everything. There are over 400 million "Gringos" is N America, how are you going to kick them out and to where you going to send them? I respect your views! Live&Lov

  • I love Greeks .. here in New York City many of the Mexicans live in Greek Neighborhoods and the Greek business owners talk about how good the Mexican workers are and honest (the native ones) here in NYC Greek people welcome others and Greeks never get involved in racist clashes like some other european ethnic groups do in NYC (and we know who they are :P) . Greeks are Cool ! Hellas Forever!

  • There's Mexicans in New York?

  • TONS o Mexicans Viva la raza.. Native Mexicans!

  • @mcworldnet Hello! Let me ask you a question. Do you think it's inappropriate for a Mestizo to embrace and prefer their Native Mexican culture over their Spanish origins?

  • its difficult to say in Mexico and other central and south american countries. You have people that call themselves Mestizo but racially look very very indigenous. Here in N America we have the opposite people with very little Native blood clinging to native culture real and imagined. In Mexico I think all Mexicans regardless of race should be proud of the Native culture.

  • @mcworldnet I agree with you very much. I have relatives who look very indigenous, and I have relatives who are very light-skinned and have colored eyes. I don't hate my European roots, but I am more proud of my indigenous roots. Since I only know how to speak English and Spanish, I'm currenty in the process of learning Nahuatl.

  • @bomburfilikili same here i have family that look real white and i have family that look indigenous.

  • nope im chilean, and i really want to learn to speak Mapuche even though im more european then indigenous i still want to learn about my native roots so mestizos have a right to learn about there heritage just as much as a pure blooded indian

  • @camau79 That's good! There's nothing wrong with embracing indigenous culture. Good luck with your study.

  • @camau79 thats a lie that we are mostly european descent.

  • @bomburfilikili no its not innapropriate the spanish massacred our people shoved religion down our fucking throats we have to learn our history of who we really our and our real languages not european ones

  • I agree. Thats why we have to support immigration from Mexico Most of the people that are coming her e to the Northeast are Indians and they are sending money back home to their villages. They are getting educated here in The USA and in 15 years they will be able to start to take Mexico back from the Gringos that run it now.

  • Listen no disrespect but you have to realize that there is a whole lot of "bad" people that are coming and going thru the boarder that don't need to be. You are right that these beautiful people have been treated wrong by the Conqistadors and this is their land along with other Native Americans. We as people of today haven't done harm but we have been sold out to the Supreme Lord which is money! People from Mexico have been sold out by their own people for money and power, US as well. Live&Love

  • it's crazy as hell to label all "mexicans" as "hispanics" an indian isan indian regardless of where she or he comes from!

  • It could be true that they are not native speakers but there is no denying that they are Native people and ANYTHING that promotes recognition of "La Raza" is positive and beneficial for all of us. After the decimation of the invasion and subsequent conquest .. we want these positive developments.

  • these natives kick ass! :)

  • This is not the solution because Mexican government is not protecting the people who really are speaking these and all the other native languages. I am not Mexican but i have been living here for 3 years and i see the situation. Those people you see in the video non of them are really native speaker of Nahuatl language. This is a huge contradiction.

  • WHY are Mexican native children the most beautiful in the world? why are all indigenous children in the Americas the cutest!? Esta mi gente!

  • damn right! :)

  • @mcworldnet racist

  • Great Video , God Bless Mexico .

  • very cute! save your culture people!

  • Sweet! I wish they would do something like this in the U.S.

  • Finally some teachers doing something the right way in Mexico !!!

  • muy bello

  • this is so cute!

  • this is too DAMN COOL!!!!! :)

  • cool natives!

  • EN PERU NO HAY NAHUATL

  • @july071992

    NOMBREEE!!! pero si hay Quechua!

  • The mesoamericans were very very advanced and civilized people despite European accounts. It's a shame that simple disease was their undeserved downfall

  • Fuck, i want to learn this language very bad!

  • god bless these kids learning their true language! not just the iberian mish-mosh!

  • @CrazyNative4 I just wish the Ainu kids of Japan and the Saami kids of Sweden were just as lucky as they are

  • i wanna learn nahuatl!

    quiero aprender nahuatl

    =(

  • put more stuff in nahuatl :)

  • Mixpantinzco, I love hearing Native languages. I learned a bit of Classical Nahuatl from an Aztec Reconstructionist friend. It is very different from the modern Nahuatl spoken today.

  • SO CUTE. Great to keep Native languages going.

  • This really makes me happy, I wish I knew Mayan, my ancestors language. Thanks for this..gracias por esto de todo corazon.

  • Buenísimo :D
