Beware of snappy video covers with festival seals at Blockbuster. This movie sucks. The story plot is so weak. The crux of the truth is that a Mexican was stealing corn and showing his son how to do so from the beginning. The story lacks support based on that weak story plot. It had a bad portrayal of Mexicans, and even weaker portrayal of the exaggerated racist "White Man" syndrome. At many points of the movie when it lacked story in used sex to fill in story gaps.
I saw this movie and I thought it was not only good, but accurate. If you think this was in any way a weak or exaggerated portrayal of life in the 1920's, you should really do some research. Thumbs up for movies based on TRUE stories.

AWESOME. SAW THE MOVIE ON BLOCKBUSTER. Not enough Indies about South Texas. Great job for director Javier Chapa.
