God, it took me so many trys to get that the first time, I wish I'd seen this first. Eventually I figured out to click at the top of that "international dateline" that's there.

ok yeah sure...anyways, are there any other shortcuts like this one? how did you find out about it?

There is a shortcut through the Denmark Strait which I recently made a tutorial for.
As for discovering this one, I knew about it from having read the Introversion forums.

they should make this easier in a newer version
It already is easy. It's so easy my dead gran can do it with one hand tied behind her back.
