  • @belladeballe I get the feeling a lot of folks are thinking the same thing. As soon as I heard the story I immdeatly thought of this.

  • my husband played this for his boos when he quit his job at the end of the day he put the tape on n said listen good cuz I'm not gonna repeat it. what a thrill I got from the looks on everyones faces when they heard it.

  • this was a popular one with the military when they had done their time. It gave them the excuse to state their feelings even when they had enjoyed a good career. I have passed thhis song title today to an ex colleague who has sadly left. thankyou for publishing this.

  • I've felt like saying this many of times. However, I've loved the jobs I've had. I had the pleasure of seeing the man behind the song, David Allan Coe, perform it, and a few other songs he wrote for other artists, and a few of his own hit songs, and in all honesty, I didn't really believe him. I believed Johnny more than I believed David. RIP Johnny, and thanks for this unforgettable 1977 gem. The blue-collar workers of America salute you!
