my husband played this for his boos when he quit his job at the end of the day he put the tape on n said listen good cuz I'm not gonna repeat it. what a thrill I got from the looks on everyones faces when they heard it.
this was a popular one with the military when they had done their time. It gave them the excuse to state their feelings even when they had enjoyed a good career. I have passed thhis song title today to an ex colleague who has sadly left. thankyou for publishing this.
I've felt like saying this many of times. However, I've loved the jobs I've had. I had the pleasure of seeing the man behind the song, David Allan Coe, perform it, and a few other songs he wrote for other artists, and a few of his own hit songs, and in all honesty, I didn't really believe him. I believed Johnny more than I believed David. RIP Johnny, and thanks for this unforgettable 1977 gem. The blue-collar workers of America salute you!
Mr . Paycheck was one helluva country singer, For those who get hung up on him shooting that stupid SOB in Ohio "Are you really so stupid you judge a person by one foolish act". LOL That bar he shot that guy in was 15 miles from my home I used to do alot of ummm THINKING there. lol God bless you brother
