@JazzAce340 Amen to that man, a point agreed upon by the late great Oscar Peterson. All one learns from transcribing is that one could never have created that oneself. Still, we can always dream.
@flipadiddle I don't doubt that - but the point I, rather Oscar Peterson, was trying to make, was that all that you learn from transcribing something is that the chances are, you could never haver created that yourself. It does however help in learning useful tricks, licks, and styles. I learnt a lot from Peterson's version of Georgia on my Mind. I also learnt I could never come close to creating something like that of my own accord.
