I just had this done today..it honestly was not that bad. I thought it was going to be horrible and I was going to be traumatized for life. As long as you don't tighten up your muscles, you will be fine. Seriously the worst part was having the barium shot into you..it bloats up your stomach. It didn't hurt so much..just very uncomfortable

im 14 and just had this a couple weeks ago.

Seriously, its not that awful. Sure, it can be sensitive getting a tube stuck up you and getting your colon pumped with liquid, but it doesnt hurt. The worst that can happen is you lose control of your bowel, which would be morbidly embarrassing, but the people at the hospital have seen it all, haha. I didnt do that luckily and everything went fine. Uncomfortable but not untolerable.

@Diluted99 hey sorry only just read comments on my youtube page.

The procedure was horrendous. Nearly passed out at 1 part as i was full of gas and they was getting me to leave forward standing up and the pressure was to much(this was to take xrays at different angles) cant fault the staff they were brilliant throughout. After the procedure was sat in loo for over half an hour though lol

Isn't barrium a highly toxic heavy metal? when I have money I go get regular water enemas. and drink wheat grass juice. just my preferred method. but I agree that a barrium enema is certainly better than doing nothing.
