Oh, man. You got me to actually try out and play this game. It is fun.

After a few tries, I happened to get a shotgun, and liberated a nearby store of its goods. A cape and climbing boots plus shotgun seemed to make the game easy mode

... Until I found out the shopkeeps don't like that, waiting at the end of every level, plastering your wanted mug over every store, no damsels or shortcut guys in sight. Yes, this game's vindictive.

And a shopkeep puts up a good fight even without his gun. Ouch.

You know technically, it's not 100% randomly generated. Each level consists of several preset parts of like 10x10 spaces, which is why its an extremely unconvenient coincidence

What's the latest area you've reached? Failure and success aren't measured by just the amount of deaths you have in this game. It's your ratio of progress and score to death and idiocy.

For instance, I have relatively good prgress for my meager time spent playing the game, but it's balanced out by the amount of idiocy I've committed.

also, if you select a rope, and you get close to a ledge, spelunky will throw it and activate arrowtraps. then you can pick it again

The damsel gets very useful, especialy when near arrow traps. She can take an awful amount of hits.

also, if you drop from a single block height onto a spike, or jump onto them from the same elevation, they won't kill you.

Second, I hate you because this game REFUSED TO WORK PROPERLY on my computer (couldn't see the level - a bug that I could not fix)
