  • if nobody want this plane, maybe it^s a good reason

  • two seater looks good

  • That's the Gripen with tail no. 829 in which I've flown during Aero India!!!

  • 2:01 to 2:15 awesome !!! =D

  • Sweden has madegreat fighter. If I heard correctly, so is 37 Viggen, one of the only fighter who has locked a Blackbird. And 39 Gripen has locked on an F117 Nighthawk. And they did it with radar.

  • Este deve ser o caça da FAB, é o top dos Tops.

  • @ander1008 A seguir ao Eurofighter, Rafale, F-22, PAK-FA, Su-35BM, MKI, MiG-35......

  • beuatiful.. amen to that.

  • o brasil que compra estas botas de terceira qualidade, ate a fab faz melhor!

  • 5 men can equip this aircraft in 15 min. and make it take off on a country road. i heard from a flight magazine that it will be fitted with meteor ramjet AA missiles in 2010's

  • @JVC7400 You're correct, Sweden has already bought Meteor which are being tested and fitted. They'll upgrade all Charlie versions with the Meteor aswell as upgrading Charlie versions to Echo versions (the NG with aesa and more powerful engine and a much higher MTOW) And it's actually 10 minutes with 4 ground crew members and a car. And that includes re-armament and re-fueiling of the plane.

  • @wellerocks true. yhis aircraft is master of easy logistics, this is also the aircraft i think my country Denmark is buying

  • @JVC7400 I'd definitely like to see the Gripen as a part of the Danish Air Force. Could be such a nice co-operation between the European nations. A nice thing for Denmark would be to create a defense consisting of both the F-35 and the Gripen. Making up for low-risk missions, stealth missions, a cheap & expensive type of Air force for different missions and different situations. I heard Norway might do the same. Buying Gripens until the F-35 is actually ready.

  • @wellerocks true, and they will be easier to maintenance as flightmechanics wont have to work on diffrent airplanes, and there will be no need for too many parts.

  • @JVC7400 The Problem with that is however that costs due to a dual pilot education system and two completely different trainings. That's why Norway is still uncertain of choosing between them. The ministry of defense says it's either one or the other. Not Both. But minds change quickly these days. I've heard that Finland is considering a replacement for their F-18A's aswell. Imagine Scandinavia, unified by the same fighter aircraft, more exercises together and a better air defense.

  • @wellerocks

FAF will replace F-18's in 2020.

  • @MokomaSusi Oh that's nice to know. Hopefully, Finland could enter some kind of arrangement of getting Gripen NG's until sharing the new 5.5 generation fighter jet that Sweden is going to develop together with amongst France, Great Brittain, Germany, Australia and Italy. It's said to have made its maiden flight in no later than 2030 and be able to have been fully delivered into the Swedish Air Force no later than 2040. That gives the Finns 20 years of Gripen NG if they decide to join in.

  • cute small plane, looks like an RC aircraft

  • Gripen: the only fighter in the world that can hide in the woods waiting for the right moment to leave its lair and claw a gaping wound in the side of a bigger enemy.

We Swedes know that if we are attacked we would be in deep shit because there are so few of us. So that is how we build our stuff since many many years. To handle deep shit situations. The Rafale, the Typhoon and the other planes out there are all great in their own ways. But they could never handle deep shit like the Gripen.

  • Agree! I feel that we, Brazilians, need exactly something like that on Amazon forest to protect our country. Wish success for SAAB on Brazilian Fighter bidding!

  • @Laccodel u are right. I hope the Gripen wins the Indian MCRA tender and rips the living daylights out of of pakistan or china if they tried anything on India!

  • Comment removed

  • @Laccodel To my knowledge that is quite correct. But then again they cant cause the same big shit as those others can.

So different view points. Either you cause big shit, or you handle big shit. Gripen handles it.

  • Intresting, can you link the facts about this fight? In english.

It is a smart move to respect the rafale, it is a good fighter.

  • No doubt that Rafale is great plane, but saying that something is "30% better" is just moronic. These planes are built for different purposes, different pilots, different people.

  • Great power!!!!

  • Rafale vs Gripen? they are even if they atk a countery but in defending rafale dosent stand a crappy chance vs gripen , Gripen is the best defending plane in the world, Each Gripen got their own crew on 4 men that follow Gripens movements whit radiar contact and m. Gripen can land on normal roads and can be repaired by the crew get fuel and new bombs in less than 20 mins no other plane can do that.

  • Well yeah Gripen is a Swedish fighter and Sweden has a defence military so of course we have a defencive fighter as well, it wouldn't do us any good if it were a attack only plane right..I love this plane I think it looks awesome and has a good porpose:)

  • I hope Jesus returns and saves us from ourselves.

  • i hope rafale wins

  • I hope the Gripen wins the Swizz deal

  • poor little bird at 2:11 haha

  • Great movie! Do they fly back home too Sweden?

  • Yes

  • Nice!
