This song is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr, and was originally called "King". The title line is from a speech he gave saying, "We Owe This To Ourselves- to end racism in our time." The first verse is inspired by a letter he wrote in which he predicted his own death, and expressed fear that the movement might end with his passing. Anberlin wrote this in the spirit of keeping on his work and ideas- "We can't just let this go!"
