"jim white is the man"? You got that right! Best drummer in the world, and a really great guy. I remember at a gig, nobody could hear anything, so everyone shouted out "Turn up the violin... turn up the guitar" etc., I shouted out "Turn up the sorrow!" Warren Ellis frowned at me and said, "It's not a button... You don't just turn it on and off!" Jim, on the other hand, played far more passionately after I said it, then pointed his drumstick at me! I think Tren Brothers are as good as Dirty 3.

That's him. You should definitely check the album he recorded with Nina Nastasia, it's 'You Follow Me', awesomely played (and sounding) drums there. He also played on other NN albums, all well worth checking out.

Wow. Even low-quality footage of these guys playing live in a record store through flippin' Peaveys is better than almost any actual live concert. This was their best era (first 3 Touch and Go albums) imo. I guess until Ocean Songs they never had a practice. Wrote all their songs during sound check/warm-up, and early on just during the show. Amazing.
