    Thank you for your comment. The struts in the bottom of the reclining portion of the sofa were broken and were a hazard to people when reclined. After looking into repairing the sofa, it would have cost to much to invest in a 17-year old sofa that had many tears in the fabric. We did try to give it away but there were no takers. The garbage truck was the last resort. My family consistently donates used items to charitable organizations on a monthly basis.
