You nitwit. The ad was made in 1997. In 1997, the Internet was on the tip of everybody's tongue, but few businesses had figured out how to turn a profit from it.

What's wrong with surfing the Internet? It's BECAUSE people surf the Internet that many businesses are able to function. Not only that, but I'm very sure that even people using this Lotus software for business like to surf the web when they're not working, maybe even for information about UFOs. This commercial isn't logical.

Browsing isn't wrong. It's just that back then that's basically ALL people were doing with it. Also, browsing wasn't as productive as it is today. Search engines were unsophisticated and Yahoo's search amounted to digging through its category trees.

it's that Leary has a sharp cynical wit about him that was the reason he was chosen. He can also turn from cynical to pleading with reason..it shows and is cool.
