Well hard to say, Bill Haley, Elvis and Carl Perkins pioneered rockabilly (country with blues progression and often with a touch of western swing). Chuck Berry came from the electric blues world, and played more bluesy that the 3 mentioned above. To me this IS r&r not r&b, but not rockabilly.
