e34 540 6-speed 0-120

That is massively quick. I have an e34 540i touring manual, got a supercharger and 3.91 M5 LSD fitted and it is nowhere near as quick as your car. Have you had it on a rolling road?

I haven't had it on a dyno... my car has quite a bit of weight removed from it. I estimate it to be in the 3200lb range so that definitely helps. Your car sounds very cool. We've got a pretty good community of e34 owners @ Bimmerforums. You should stop by and introduce yourself/your car.

Is this your daily driver? Would you want to go to a 3.46 lsd or stay at 3.15? I'm thinking about adding the ESS to my 540i too. Thanks.

This is just my once a month auto-x car... I would love to go to a 3.46LSD but if I were daily driving I'd stick with the 3.15.

I think this video was made while driving to a buddy's house to put in a new waterpump that had just arrived. Never any overheating problems with the car even during track days.

engine and transmission are the way they came from the factory... never been opened 4.0L v8 with a 6-speed getrag tranny.

the E39 M5 has nearly same data like yours, but is heavier. and this one got 245/40 and rear 275/35

did u checked the bolts of the oil-pump? typicall for the M60, that they are loosing and falling down into the oil-pan.

very nice accelerating, the speed from sero to 60 is just incredible!!!

There's enough grip for straight line but I need more tire on the track... have to be really easy on corner exit.

I checked the bolts... the 3 bolts that hold the pump to the block had backed out and half of the bolts/nuts that actually hold the pump together were loose and in the bottom of the pan.... they're all loctited in now.

I run 235-45/255-40 on 17x8/17x9 inch rims respectively for my street tires.

That's because I was rolling when the video started and coming to a complete stop. At a stop it reads 0 because.... well... you're getting 0mpg.

Ah, of course!  That makes perfect sense. My 540i is the e39 and it does the complete opposite. It rests pinned at above 40, which is not true at all.

Nice! i have a 95' 6 speed myself. I was considering supercharging it. How do you like the ESS kit? How hard was the install?  I may just fab up some custom mounts and put my own kit together but i want to get more opinions.

7lbs (per ESS... I have not checked to see how much boost it's actually building). The car runs fine in warm climates but it does tend to heat soak a bit. Looking into options for fitting an intercooler. .
