According to various things written from people who should know, Roy Rogers was a real horseman. Many who worked with both Gene Autry and Roy Rogers said that Roy knew how to mount, ride and control a horse perfectly, while they had to edit around Autry a lot because he wasn't very good. Also, reportedly, Autry drank a lot and was often a bit wobbly in the saddle, while Roy wasn't a drinker and was a solid guy all the way.
Roy Rogers still the king. Best rider singer and a fair hand at yodeling. I'm 65 or 66 now and i grew up learning right from wrong, watching ALL Roy's movies.
Roy`s days on tv were classic.I wish i was growing up in his heyday.alas I`m too young,Roy has/had a classic voice and his yodeling was the best.i you live in the toronto,or listen to q107 on the web you know they murder his signature songm, one reason i don`t like the q.we need more of Roy today.
I would like for Clint Black to do a movie on the life of Roy Rogers. If anyone here knows how to get this to more people, I'm sure that it would be a major hit movie, to the young and old alike. What do you think?
yes Tones4 me, Roy and Clint have the same eyes. I was raised a city girl became a horse farmer. The words you sing and say are the cloak you wear. This is innocent , fun and inclusive. I have a friend who has an autistic child and only old Roy and Dale videos calm her. It has something to do with the speed of life versus the speed of light that flashes on the screens today. that is my wisdom, from an old Canadian cowgirl.
Roy and Randy you are two great guys.Growing up I watched Roy and Trigger ride across the screen.I still watch them, because I have most all of their movies,TV shows etc. I love my horses and I love Roy and Randy. HAPPY TRAILS I LOVE YA LOTS
wonderful! one of the greatest singing cowboys! and randy travis is a dream. thanks for sharing1 roy is gone but never forgotten. we will miss him always.
Thanks for the post! I love Roy's eyes. Clint Black has the same look. Someone wrote a country song about all the best cowboys having Roy Roger eyes. Look at how old Roy was here and yet never misses a beat of this song and it is wordy! The King of the Cowboys!
I LOVE yodeling! ROY WAS THE BEST!
