Bill Kelly, who has a show on radio station WFMU in Jersey City, used to play this regularly in the mid-80s, along with neo-psychedelic, garage rock, punk, etc. Such a great tune this is.
Great song, great band, great video! Immediately after seeing this video on MTV back in the day, I went out and bought the 'Afoot' EP and proceeded to wear the grooves out of it! =)
@Shamwowdood Agreed, but Sara was about 14 or 15 yrs old at the time of this video, so kind of creepy to think about. However.... she is still around as part of the 'Dexter Romweber Duo' (Dexter's her brother). Check out some of their stuff - she really wails on that drumkit, and she looks great at 40!
@Shamwowdood Ha! Actually, I'm not sure how old she really is/was. She might've been 18 or so. One of those music bio sites had a 'generic' birthday in there as Dec. 31, 1969, which was listed for several people, and in retrospect sounds a little too recent. Mitch's liner notes do say, however, that she was a teenager, so maybe she was 17 or 18 in 1984? Anyway, she looks great in recent photos and I hope to see her and Dex 'live' in support of their new album.
Great song, but a really silly video. Good thing I had read Mitch's comments about the puppies before I saw this! (I was like, WTH?!) Agreed that they all look like they're about 17 yrs old in this one. What's with the hair?! Ah, the '80s....
Cool, I've had the Afoot EP and the Cypress LP (both on vinyl) since they were first released, but don't remember ever seeing this video until now. Mitch looks really young.
These guys are great! I saw them at the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill in 1983. I had been talking to them on the phone and they let me in free because I was in the military. This is one of the most under rated bands of the 80's and just all around good people.
I saw this on TV in New Zealand and only now, after all this time, have i thought to look it up on Youtube. Legend song! Don't know anybody else who knew this band!
The puppies are the most masculine mammals in that room.

a disgrace to john lennon- should not be allowed to play that guitar!

@aprilnorcross Why not?
Salguine 4 months ago
@aprilnorcross Neither John Lennon nor his estate own exclusive rights to Rickenbacker guitars, and any way, Lennon didn't play a 330.

I believe Wendy from Prince and the Revolution had the same model Rickenbacker too.
Great tune from the 80's, for the record.

@puffgyo That, puffgyo, is a Rickenbacker Model 330 in the now-unfortunately-discontinued Azureglo finish. All hail Rickenbacker.

Agreed, most underrated of that decade.
I might have been there that evening. They played second bill to some local ska band.
Is the Cat's Cradle still in business?
