@benwarmaster666 I've looked up Moral dilemmas and it really puts humans into thinking about themselves and life. Lessons of selflessness, compassion and mercy can be learned by Religion. It gives us reason why we use these emotions to help others. Science cannot answer this because morals don't have any material gains. Interest/Usury is another form of immorality that bible and quran reject in favor of humanity. In current economic collapse, interest has a major share in it.

@goowhite i would also argue that morals do indeed have materaial gains. if through cooperation we are able to pool our recources and then split the gains between us without fear of betrayal because of the strong moral guidelines we follow then surely we have made a mutual materaial gain and we can then form the basis for a budding society, behavioral sciences such as psychology can infact explain why we act in so irrational a way , false prediction, illustion of cause, and short term views

This is badly titled. In answer to the question, yes. Making assumptions to the meanings of a few lines of badly translated text, especially text that did NOT have those meanings to the people of the time, is asinine. AfaIk, Buddhism is the only religion that has not changed, or needed to change; funny, it's the only religion that does not have a deity at the center of it. Judeo/Christian/Islam god seems more like satan deceiving them; "Believe, or else!" Rule by fear is NOT worthy of worship.

its quite amusing that the translations of the quran have changed despite the myth that it remains unchanged for 1400 years... the expanding universe argument is a prime example... as soon as science makes a breakthrough islamic scholars tweak the interpretation of the quran to suggest it was always featured in the book - and therefore it MUST be the word of god...

@benwarmaster666 I've looked up Moral dilemmas and it really puts humans into thinking about themselves and life. Lessons of selflessness, compassion and mercy can be learned by Religion. It gives us reason why we use these emotions to help others. Science cannot answer this because morals don't have any material gains. Interest/Usury is another form of immorality that bible and quran reject in favor of humanity. In current economic collapse, interest has a major share in it.

@goowhite i would also argue that morals do indeed have materaial gains. if through cooperation we are able to pool our recources and then split the gains between us without fear of betrayal because of the strong moral guidelines we follow then surely we have made a mutual materaial gain and we can then form the basis for a budding society, behavioral sciences such as psychology can infact explain why we act in so irrational a way , false prediction, illustion of cause, and short term views

@fayix you can due to philosphical debate and free will, this form of debate has lead to the abolishment of many religious "morals" bieng deemed no longer acceptable which is in itself evidence that it works.
for example:
parents do not stone their child to death for being disobedient.
we do not kill those who work on the "Sabbath day"
if you are Muslim in a modern country the punishment for apostasy is no longer death.
without this secular debate the world would be a much less moral place.
