I can understand that everyone has a different way to view football and everyone has his own "personal top". This top isn't true and definitive. If I would create this video again I probably will choose some different players. I made this video on a few boring summer afternoons and I could not include some players cause I don't found videos for them (Bobby Moore, Maldini)

Zidane is the most overrated player in history. How can you put him above Ronaldo? Good video tough. My order would be Maradona Pele Di Stefano Cruyff Puskas Ronaldo Eusebio Messi Platini Beckenbauer. Just then comes Zidane but after Best, Garrincha and Van Basten.
Good list though with some flaws. Puskas with over 80 international goals is definitely top 10. Di Stefano is superior to Zidane and probably everyone. Beckenbauer is not one of the 10 most gifted players.
If he was the best then Holland would have won in either or both 74 & 78.
That's what truly great players do - drag their team-mates to greatness with them. Like Garrincha in 62, Maradonna in 1986&90 or Zidane in 98&2006.
Its about the will to win. They are guys who will go to war with. They are certainly not players who help torpedo the chances of their ultra-talented team through their own boundless ego.

Yes, I've been waiting for a very long time to someone to put Cruyff as a number ONE. In spite of his failure in WC74 I think he is the best player ever ! Thanks.
But I'm french and I would tend to think that Platini is a better player than Zidane, Zidane does not deserve his 4th rank, he's a very good player but not a Legend...
But I quite agree with the rest of the video... thanks to put charlton, puskas, di stephano, older but still great !

@MatthieuDLN I absolutely agree that Platini was a legend, but Zidane wasn't! Platini had something greatness which Zidane can't have with his poor abilities, speed, solos, scoring, or improvisation. If someone watched a Platini match highlights they'd understand.
As for Cruyff, take Di Stefano, he was a similar playmaker too.

Good list though with some flaws. Puskas with over 80 international goals is definitely top 10. Di Stefano is superior to Zidane and probably everyone. Beckenbauer is not one of the 10 most gifted players.

If he was the best then Holland would have won in either or both 74 & 78.
That's what truly great players do - drag their team-mates to greatness with them. Like Garrincha in 62, Maradonna in 1986&90 or Zidane in 98&2006.
Its about the will to win. They are guys who will go to war with. They are certainly not players who help torpedo the chances of their ultra-talented team through their own boundless ego.

Sorry, but Germany were just better. And in Beckenbauer and Muller had 2 players who were his equal. I didn't know about him being forced away from the 1978 tournament.
And he really MADE Ajax win because Neeskens, Arie Haan, Johnny Rep etc. were all useless. And that Rinus Michels was such a clod.
Obviously Cruyff was a great player, maybe a top tenner, but there is no way he was greater than Marradona, Pele, Garrincha or quite a few others.

@ambbb1973 Every great player had help. Not just Cruyff. Pele had Didi, Garrincha, Gerson, Jair !! Maradona at Napoli has Bagni, De Napoli, Careca, Ferrara all top class internationals. Cruyff was every bit as skilled as Pele or anyone. I'm not Dutch. I'm not Ajax or Barca. My friend Cruyff was a better player then Beckenbaure or Muller both of whom were very good. Cruyff was a fantastically gifted two footed dribbler of rare talent. It is simply wrong to deny his absolute class

Napoli won his first scudetto in 1986 with a normal team and his leadership, well, only two years before Verona had also won with a worst team, and nobody would include Briegel in this top 10.

Briegel and Maradona can't be on par just because Verona's scudetto. Verona work for that scudetto was a miracle, agree. but it's a work of a team, noone is a dominant player more than the other. it's not just Briegel.
While Maradona, he was like almost single handedly drove Napoli forward with his magic against Roma and Juventus side which were more complete team than Napoli back then...

Anyway, everything could be said about Van Basten (who had less dribbling and passing and more goal) except two things: 1) Marco can't be the first modern player, because the first one was Cruyff (in offense, and Beckenbauer in defense); 2) His real trademark, the leadership, he has been the biggest leader in the field of last 40 years.
