The idea of boarding schools to 'kill the indian and save the man' is too shameful to describe in words. I recently watched "Into the West"-series and came upon this subject with boarding-schools. I can imagine the sorrow and anger of not being allowed to use the first language. A person's cultural and individual expression is so strongly connected to it.
