part 2: The truth is that the blame for Henry's treatment of his Katherine and Mary was stapled to Anne's back. But it wasn't entirely her fault. Henry was a ruthless tyrant. He didn't need any help to punish those who he felt had defied his will and disobeyed him.
I must admit, my first inclination is to call Anne a homewrecking whore. But that is not true. The truth is that Henry VIII wanted a male heir. Katherine was no longer able to give that to him. So if not Anne, it would have been someone else. The only thing that set Anne appart from the other women he slept with is that she had standards and she would sleep with him unless he was her husband. She was smarter than a lot of females walking around today.
She wasn't that good of a queen, she wasn't even queen for a long time. Sure she helped the poor and gave birth to Elizabeth but she hardly influence her since she died when Elizabeth was little. Not to mention she broke up a family and made Mary suffer because she wasn't a good stepmother.
@silverblu100 She was considered the most influential Queen Consort because of the English Reformation. After all, she was the one that gave Henry VIII the controversial book "The Obedience Of The Christian Man" by a known reformer William Tyndale (who translated the Bible in English) and influenced him to break with Rome.
@evaperonfan Someone obviously has not studied history. Go back to playing your pokemon and leave debating to people actually knowledgeable on the subject.
Anne was amazing. She had her own mistakes but everyone have. She didn´t have choice and had to "work" for her family. And death of many innocent Englishmen..look at Catherine of Aragon or Thomas More.. They were good people but they did agree with death of protestants only for their faith. I know it was "normal" for that time but we can´t judge someone when others did mistakes too. It wasn´t easy to live in this time.
@evaperonfan actually Anne wasn't just 'a common prostitute'. She was a human being and if you want to see someone worse then her why don't you look up her sister Mary? The Flander's Mare. Anne was an intelligent woman, as was Catherine of Aragon. Neither caused wars or killed thousands.
@evaperonfan Worse than Hilter, really? What Anne Boleyn did was nothing compared to what Hitler did. You're saying that Anne Boleyn should be suffering more than Hitler. Did Anne cause the mass genocide of nearly an entire race? She doesn't even compare.

Her actions caused others great suffering but she has this image tied to elizabeth that she was a good person. She wasn't. plus she was smart enough not to put herself in that situation but instead of standing up and being the great person that she is praised at being she crumbled and let her life depend on her ablity to bear a son. She had to know. She was not stupid. you call people like that a whore. But you can call men who do that the same thing. but a whore is a whore no matter the sex.
All the queens of England brought something different to the throne during King Henry's reign. Catherine gained the trust of Henry because she helped control his temper, and gave birth to a good leader too. Anne created a brand new religion (well Henry did) and gave birth to a great leader. Jane had a son and reconciled Mary with Henry and was nice to Elizabeth. Anne of Cleves was a good companion after the divorce.
Why do things always have to start a debate? I have no idea. We all have opinions, we all have our own set of morals. Why should we put down other's because of theirs? Truthfully, I loved Anne Boleyn. She was a good Queen and loved Henry. She gave birth to an amazing Queen and we should all be thankful for that. She died in vain and was unjustly acussed and that is all I will say.

I'm expecting thumbs down, but honestly, I hate this part, because I don't like the way in which Anne got to the throne. A lot of innocent people suffered, because of Henry, Anne, their insolence, arrogance, and selfishness. They're reigning, living in opulence, and all the while, Katherine and Mary are suffering greatly. It's inhumane!

She was selfish. All the things I've read about her give me the idea that she wanted what was best for her.She was a smart whore I'll give her that. She knew when to give it up. Waiting years, acting like she was special, preying on a weak man. I'm not sayin Henry wasn't wrong himself but Anne was a smart woman. She knew the trick of the trade. LOL...She didnt care about child suffering and neglect. Just what was to gain.Whorish behavior.Tell me, would you be proud to call her your step mother?

I think Anne got exactly what she deserved. She went for being a nobody to being a somebody by anyway she could. She could've died a respectibable death a lady and no one would have known who she was. Instead she was killed and is for ever known as one of the greatest whores of all time.Too bad she didn't know that what goes up must come down. LOL...
I think after she became his wife, that she really understood his character and just how cruel he really can, I mean did you see the way she was scared when he said "I said you are my Queen" she was shocked and confussed and also scared.
It gave me chills!

@TheOriginalDivaSable i agree. Mary would've been a better queen if Anne Boleyn hadn't come along. The only good thing she did was have Elizabeth.
