If Bruce can't take it... then I wouldn't be able to either :/ Bruce is my hero!!!! \m/
I will admit this reminded me of a scene near the beginning of Moonraker where Bond went in one of these and tried to hit the chicken switch but it just went faster and faster. Terrifying :/
There are different kinds of "g." The g that he's experiencing here is actually NOT what an astronaut, lying on their back at liftoff, would feel. This g he's getting is what a fighter pilot feels in a tight change of direction (in a climb or a turn). Racecar drivers feel an even different kind of g that pushes them to one side or another. Three kinds of g, three different axises involved.
ive pulled 4.5 Gs also was not bad for my first time just got a bit dizzy afterwards :D im just happy that commercial pilots dont need to do centrifuge training as im planning to be one xD
I can't find any stats, but of all the rollercoasters I've ever been on, Tatsu at Magic Mountain has a decent amount in that one final loop. You take the loop from the inside. You really feel the push. The first time you go on it, it will shock you a little because it almost pushes the air right out of your lungs. My guess is at least 3 if not more. I was told that 4g is the max amount rollercoasters are allowed to push, and only for a few seconds.
Because it is the outside of the centrifuge which creates the force. If you go to a children's playground and go on the roundabout you can stand up in the dead middle of it and be alright. Go to the outter edge of it and you will get pulled off it. That's because the circumference you turn in the middle is much lower than when on the outside, so therefore the G force is much lower and the centrigufal force will hardly affect you.
I think an average person without training can take about 4 -6 G's before atleast blacking out. If the exposure to such force is sustained, thats when they pass out.
i've pulled 4.5 before two times, and one time blacked out. Only greyed out the second time.

Hmm, he's very wrong. An average Space Shot gives you about 4G.

-well air show pilots pull the 12 g's, but for a short period of time (1-2 sec.)
-meanwhile jet fighter pilots pull max. 9 g's but for longer period of time (20-30 sec.)

Isin't it the centripetal acceleration that actually gets you? Centrifugal force is just the effect?
jess1541 2 years ago 2
Something like that. But the further you are from the centre of rotation, the larger the force acting on you.
