  • Thank you very much for uploading this. I have looked for this and could not find it. Thanks again.

  • thanks so much for uploading this film. I have been looking for it for years and assumed it was lost. It's an essential artifact of the history of WWI, as well as film and theater history.

  • Thank you so much! I've looked all over to try and find a copy of this movie without success. Cheers! Dan :)

  • This should definitely be released on DVD, perhaps in Blu-Ray, too! It's such an amazing film, not to mention the book.

  • awww. "away, where?" 1:50:45 - so like a little schoolboy.. ever so naive D:

  • Thank you SO much for posting this, I didn't read the book for school and I'm behind so I'm relieved this film is up to help me get a outline, you kinda saved my life (:

  • Thanks so much for posting this!

  • A wonderful film that holds up well, even today.

    Clive is brilliant, I think.

The film should be restored and released on DVD.

  • @lomion79 ITV holds the rights to the film. So I don't know what they're waiting for!

  • All Quiet On The Western Front is hands down the greatest war movie of all time, even though it's set in WW1, its message is timeless, WAR = :(

  • What does the text under Colin Clive's name say in the opening credits?

  • @Alismyanodyne

    By special permission of ???

Probably a film or stage company. He did the role on stage, and they may have released him for the film, or perhaps he was under contract to RKO. He did a # of pictures for them. The company loaned him out.

  • Absolutely MARVELOUS!! and probably the best print avaliable. Thank you, VeidtClub...This deserves to be seen.

  • Good grief I can't believe this rarity is on here! A bazillion thanks for posting!

  • Wow! Thanks, VeidtClub. I'm glad you could post this. A really great film, with impressive performances by Colin Clive, David Manners, Ian MacLaren, and all the other actors. And the breakthrough film for James Whale- as it was for his stars. Colin Clive is just amazing in this film. You can see why Whale wanted him to play Dr. Frankenstein. I'm glad more people can now see this film- I think they will like it, too. All available copies of this are a little fuzzy, but it's still good. Thanks!
