I dont live far from Fort Carson, 1 day we had to take my nephew to the base hospital b/c his mom was taken there when she suffered a seizure. Alot of military ppl i've known over the yrs said that they preffered offbase housing, i asked them why and they told me that it's like you never leave work..any truth to that or sorta?

@thecolaratlady We're an Army family, and that's why we prefer to live off base. It's like having your house surrounded by everyone you work with 24/7. :)

Fort Carson needs to build its own high school.

You get people that come in all the time cause of military and bitch/complain about how they dont like it here ect. and it ruins the experience for those that are natives to the area.

@standardgear Ya you can rent your board and the MWR (Moral Welfare and Recreation) cheap and drive to them. Brekinridge is really close and awesome. We took a 4 day weekend and went to Aspen, a little bit of a drive but only a few hours.

These videos do not deserve a spot on Youtube, considering they are only showing you what they want you to see. Privatized housing on base sucks and most of the housing there is OLD, disgusting, and needing improvement. The company who runs the privatized housing made living on base a living hell. They wont answer your calls but they are quick to take your money a fine you for the stupidest things.

Never been inside the barricks, so cant tell you much about them, sorry. Still, keep in mind that landscaping is always nice but the insides are what you need to pay attention to, considering thats where you're going to live.

i agree that if you're moving to carson its better to rent off post. balfour beatty is by far the worst we've experienced out of all the army posts we've lived in.

They only show the new housing in the video, and it is for senior enlisted and officers, and they are already full...the community center is where the housing office is now, and THEY ARE AWFUL...expect to get no help while you are there, especially if you have to deal with Keisha!

I had to laugh when they talked about post housing and the housing office. Balfour Beatty is the WORST housing management company! They don't answer phones and are rarely available. If you are coming to Carson, rent off post!! They don't even show the old housing which is the majority of housing that is available. Your best bet...live off post!!

You can't make biased judgements fortified by stereotypes of what five people did. There are more than 750,000 soldiers in the army. Keep in mind that the vast majority of soldiers in the army are also committed to defending your rights are livelihood.
